Say I wanted to test the max discharge amperage on a battery. What equipment would I need to test the battery under loads? And monitor them?

If someone manufactured an all-in-one machine that does this I would buy them all day long. I believe it is complicated but that's all I know sorry.
Damn:/ I'll have to contact one of the top suppliers for batteries and see if they'll divulge that information to me. I feel like it be a secret you know? But we'll see.
An inductive, clamp-on type Ammeter might do it... most have clamp diameters of 23 or more mm.
I actually happen to have one of those in my toolbox. I'll see if it works and report back.
Okay that did not work for me. It didn't give me any reading. I have a feeling it's the fact that most of those readers are for alternating current and not direct current, which all batteries are.
They do. And I believe the starting prices are about $5,000.00.
Or you can "hack" it together like this guy does - if you know what you are doing. ~> How is the test done and how to read the charts But unless you know what a computer controlled bench top power supply is, for openers, it's probably best to just let the professionals do it.

you can do it on a bench with a true rms dvm,resistor, sweep scope and other stuff. it is very dangerous if you do not know what you are doing. afaik there is no cheap all in one device that can do this.
