Yeah I'm a sucker for new gear. I've trimmed down my collection a lot, but I get something new from time to time. I just picked up the drop and it's pretty nice.
The Drop is real nice! I like the deck and wells better than my Wabbit. I will have to get one next time I am looking for an rda

So many interesting stories. Here is mine.
Mom smoked a pack a day when pregnant with me. After being born, both parents smoked all day, every day. Started smoking for real at 15 years old. I guess, that since I was out of the house so much, I needed the nicotine. Smoked for 38 years, I never could give it up. My boss told me to either quit the cigs or get fired, so I took to using Nicorette gum when he was around, still smoked about 10 a day, just not around him. I realized that the gum worked because of the nic, and that the smoking was ingrained in me. So, one December, six years ago, I was laying in bed and heard and felt a "flap" in my left lung. I thought it was time to quit. I had seen the e-cig that Brad Pitt used on the train in a movie. So, I went to the local mall where i had seen Kiosks with e-cigs, and bought one. Smoke 51 was the brand, it kind of worked but I really loved the vapor!! I bought the 24mg/ml cartridge in chocolate. The batteries were short-lived, I needed 3 fully charged ones a day to keep me happy. So, I decided New Years Eve 2011 would be the day to finally quit cigs. I finally quit. Then the ego-c came out and I was so much happier with the vapor. From there I have progressed to making my own juice, building coils, and finally temperature control. What a journey! I have saved my health, my wallet, and my job. My current boss of five years does not know I vape, not because I am ashamed, but because, since I live on his yacht, he might tell me not to vape on his yacht. I use unflavored 20mg/ml 20vg/80pg, so there is not much of a smell. For me it is all about the nic. I tried to lower the mg's but that just made me want to vape all the time. I can actually go for a few hours without vaping and I certainly don't feel the stress that missing a cigarette would cause. I do not know how I could ever go back to smoking. I will always be a vaper, and always need that nic.

That's how I see it. I notice that a lot of the debate centers around the fact that there is not enough peer-reviewed evidence to say unequivocally that vaping will help you quit nicotine.

However, the life-saving potential isn't in ending nicotine, it's in ending smoke-related carcinogens.

I'm not saying it won't help, I'm just saying that the debate is focused on the wrong side of the benefits. I see these machines as a legitimate alternative to smoking so that people who CAN'T quit don't have to suffer from the horrible consequences because of that.

Risk-modification. that's the key IMO

I just wanted to try vaping other than the little BLU e-cigs. I didn't try to quit smoking it just happened. Last order of e-liquid I went down to 3mg I really can't tell any difference unless I'm vaping a lot more than usual.

Yeah, I wasn't expecting to like vaping so much. years later, I'm still Loving it.

I'd definitely recommend it. I haven't been this impressed with an RDA since the OG goon came out.
The last RDA I bought before I fell off the wagon was a Doge v2 so all the new ones seem amazing to me. Others had come out but the Doge was solid . I used them for a long time and I still have them in rotation. The new RDAs are a lot more user friendly than the old 3 post ones. Just drop coils in and tighten down.

Man don't I know it. One of my first was a Doge, I also had a twisted messes 22 for a minute, I thought they were kind of small, but my first RDA was the Buddha. still got it.
I'm running stapled fused Claptons in it right now.

Cookies.

No really. A pop-up ad on my computer for an ecig. Can't even remember the brand. I was actively trying to quit (for 40 years) so I started researching and ended up here on ECF. That was 5 1/2 years ago. 1 week later I had my first starter kit (A volt cigalike from Smokeless Image) and 3 days after that I had my last cigarette. My wife followed a week later.

My mom quit smoking use vape years ago. I'm still on and off but going to try again to vape only. I'm tired of smelling like cigarette smoke and coughing all the time
Well it only takes patience and persistence. Some people take a while to transition completely, some people overnight. Remember to take it slow and don't give up hope!

That's awesome. I got into vaping right at the end of the ''age of the pen". I never used cartos as my go-to device. I've used them, but out of curiosity. It was right around the time that sub-ohm vaping started becoming mainstream, or at least, much more popular.

View attachment 720419 My first setups. These started it all:wub:
I had those same but mine were clearos but mine had replaceable heads so I never had to deal with the disposable ones. My first run in with the no "Quality Control" of those heads and soon after then that first metallic throat ripping vape from a crap head led me into researching.
It was that protank that I went into full swing of rebuilding for a couple years then limited build capacities of the PT and my thirst for more vape I went into kayfuns and began some lower ohm building. The Evods never cut it for me so I still have them, lot are still new and unused. Refilling hassles with the kayfuns got old fast went looking, ended up with kanger subtank mini and now I can just bout put anything I build into it and have a great vape, been vaping STM for over a couple years now. I had just began DIY several months before the STM showed up so it all gets better with havin no concern about juice consumption or having to buy commercial juice. DIY being cheap is just the perk.

My fingers were too fumbly to rebuild subtank coils. I had froends who did and had sucvess with it, but I just got frustrated. After these I did vivi Novas Iclear 30s's for a bit. I started DIY liquid within a couple months of starting vaping. I bought a Youde w4 for testing flavors and after a while ended up primarily using it. From then on I used mainly rda's. I kept upgrading as better ones came out. I am really liking the 24mm ones they have now, so much room to work. They used to have the 28's, but they were just too big for my taste.

What made me to start vaping?
Once upon a time (means about four years ago) I had promised my wife I will do everything I can so I will not die earlier than she. It's why I started to vape. But now she is complaining that I am coughing when I vape (I do cough when I vape, never coughed when I smoked). Yes, she is complaining of my vaping! Go figure...

Simple for me. My mom died in 2006 from severe COPD and I got my first e cig in 2007. I was a dual user for 7 years and went full vaping a little over 3 years ago.
I know I have to leave this world some day but I don't want my life to end like my mom's did.
