ive been vaping for 5 days. so far my mistakes have been:

-not knowing about priming, leaving me wondering why vaping was so harsh and nasty tasting.
-buying before researching. could have saved about $40 dollars on the $125 dollars ive spent on hardware so far
-buying a "starter kit". so unnecessary. shouldve started with something thats not practically disposable.
-in the last 2 years ive bought like 6 different e cigs from gas stations for like 15 dollars, not knowing they were meant for like a single days use. this made me think that all e cigs sucked that bad.
-buying before i understood the basics such as voltage, wattage, single vs double coil, significance of mods, etc.
-BUYING E CIG GEAR FROM WATERBEDS N STUFF (all they know about are ....s)
-teaching myself how to fill a tank then getting ...... when i sucked in a ml of juice coughing it out my nose
-not looking at other stores/online before making final decision on purchase

hmmm a lot of classic noob mistakes and a lot of buying mistakes.

will update when i remember/make more noobstakes

I am in the process of buying my First Mech mod and cheap RDA for getting the hang of rebuilding. Any Opinions on that would be Great.
Thank you,
Dalton
Okay. Cheap, RDA, Mech. If you don't mind waiting 2-3 weeks for delivery, it's hard to beat FastTech. Their 6 month warranty doesn't hurt either.

First up, Exhibit A: The Nemesis by Atmomixani Clone. This is one of the best 1:1 replicas of any mod out there. Also available in brass and mixed brass/stainless.

Exhibit B: The Launcher Clone. This is one of the most under-rated mechs out there. This copy of the Rai Vapes V2 Launcher has copper contacts, stainless steel construction, telescoping tube, and a recessed button.

Okay, got the mods out of the way.
Rebuildable dripping atomizer...

One of the best is the V5 RDA, a clone of the Nimbus. This is not only one of the easiest atomizers to build on, it is properly setup for running dual coils on, complete with 4 airholes.

One thing to be aware of, the Nemesis (clone) is 22mm wide, and the Launcher (clone) is 25.4mm so the Nimbus clone will look a bit odd, as it is a 19mm atomizer. Moving on...

The Youde IGO-L, one of the few original Chinese designs. The IGO-L is a beginner's dripper, but makes up for lack of design with a sturdy foolproof simplicity that has made it a staple in many people's collection. The one on FastTech is a clone, with plated posts. Since the real one is 100% stainless and can be purchased in the states for $12-$15, you might as well buy a real one.

Moving away from drippers and onto regular rebuildable atomizers. The Kayfun. This 22mm atomizer is easy to build on, and many people are using it as their first rebuildable atomizer. The original Kayfun Lite + from Sovemesto is about $100. The clones, well, there's a million of them. This is probably the best one FastTech sells. I've been happy with it so far.

Edit: Some more thoughts.
Kanthal Wire. Don't buy it from anywhere but Temco. They have the best prices and selection.

Cotton wicking. Use organic cotton rather than sterilized cotton. Some people claim there's no difference, but the sterilized has been treated with hydrogen peroxide. I don't know if vaping it is bad for you, but it tastes awful. Organic cotton balls can be found at Walgreen's Pharmacy. "Peaches & Cream" branded organic cotton yarn (look for ecru- it will be the off white/eggshell color) can be purchased at Wal*Mart. The yarn will need to be boiled first. I boil about 20 ft. of mine for about 15 min, then change the water and boil for another 15 min. That's about a year's supply in that 20 ft. One ball of yarn will practically last a lifetime.

Buying e-juice from a hole in the wall cigarette/head shop.In flashing letters it said "electronic cigarettes, too!" I was in another city and I was out of juice and saw this shop, I rushed in and bought a bottle. I think they had 5 different ones, Can't remember the name of the juice, but it was menthol flavor. And the only clear juice they had. I thought I had been poisoned! It was the most vile, wretched tasting stuff I have ever tasted. Kind of like a turpentine martini. I think it was 18.99 for 15 ml. I have never bought from any place like that ever since. I took one vape of it and almost lost my lunch. I threw it out right then and the tank and carto. Now I only buy from "reputable" vape shops or online vape stores. And I have learned , not all e- juice is the same!

left my ego dangling over the couch while charging and unwittingly leaned against it, depressing the button, which caused it to explode (and i mean EXPLODE -- a big bang, sparks, horrific smelling smoke, and my ego in pieces). luckily, no one was hurt.

yeah, i no longer use the couch to charge my pv's.

adding this to my ways to get revenge on somebody list lol

Don't have no regrets over anything I have bought. It has all got me where I am today. May have over spent on my first Ego-C Upgrade kit but if it was a $40 kit instead I might not have taken vaping so seriously. Past is the past and can't control that, as I can only look to the future. I regret I didn't find vaping earlier but it is just a new and growing business in Canada. I only knew one other person that vaped and that's how I got started. I now know atleast 10 more that I helped get started. Wife wants me to start a business but I have a hard enough time running my Natural Gas and Propane company. :) :)
