Right now my go to, home setup is a Vamo/18650 a PT 1/2 with a sigelei zmax mini as backup. I've got a twist and a PT mini in the car, and a vapor zeus setup and a Kamry.

Im wanting to upgrade because my Vamo and kangers a aren't playing well together. Yes, I know why and I'm using a 510/ego adapter to fix it. It's awkward looking. I still enjoy the smoke but I'm tired of messing with it.

Im needing an 18650/VW/kanger-friendly mod. What would you buy to replace a Vamo?

Not a substantial upgrade - more a step sideways, but no threading trouble at all on my Innokin SVD.
Same price range, similar features - I just find it's a great fit for my ProTanks - no airflow trouble and good threads.
I DO find I like to remove half the flavor wicking on a ProTank - but that's regardless of the device.

I have one of the newer Vamo V2 mods and it works fine with an Evod; I believe they have changed the latest version to use the OLED display like the V3 and now call it the V4.

I also have a SmokTech SID which also works with everything I have which of course includes the Kanger Evod. I haven't had the need to remove the top cap in order to use anything with it.

If you decide on a SID I recommend tightening tanks like a protank or vivi nova until it makes good contact with the battery post then loosen the SID top cap until it is snug against the bottom of the tank then you will always have secure tank without pushing the battery post down.

In all actuality, you should start checking out rebuilding atomizers. Some of the new technology that has been coming out as far as juice holders and the like, such as the Kayfun, or ithaka clone, really take your vaping to the next level without being super difficult to rebuild. Previously, you had to be Superman to rebuild tank atomizers because of how finnicky stainless steel mesh was to work with. Now, you can build a coil with Silica and still have it taste wonderfully.

The Vamo, the Zmax, even the Kamry mechanical you brought up are all simply battery holders with some circuitry. You have already upgraded to the nicer mods, you should upgrade your atomizers/juice holders.

#60 o-ring for your upgrade and your vamo and kangers will like each other again with no adapter.

Can you point me to a tutorial on the o ring fix? I can't find anything.

By looking at our names, I think we share a common bond. Help a fellow NINer out.
