I am researcher looking to describe typical e-cig use, and I am seeking advice as to how to characteize the concentration of nicotine in the liquid people are using. I was thinking of categorizing it as follows:
1. Zero nicotine 1. Low 1-6 mg/ml up to 0.6% 2. Medium 7-12 mg/ml (0.6 to 1.2%) 3. High 13-18 mg/ml (1.2-1.8%) and 4. Very high 19mg/ml and greater.
These cut-points (>0,6,12,18 mg/ml) have the advantage of being equidistant and include the main concentrations frquently used....6, 12, 18 etc.
Do experienced users broadly agree with these cut-points/classifications, or would anyone like to present a rationale for different ones?
Thanks.
