Hello,

We are getting ready to purchase an E-Power 14650 from Gotvapes.com. We previously had an eGo by joyetech, and the batteries are starting to die/not hold a charge so it's time for a new one.

Neither one of us is very informed on the technical aspects of vaping, so understanding the ohms etc is a bit daunting.

My husband likes to use cartomizers that hold alot of liquid. He also likes to vape some thicker liquids sometimes. How do I know which cartmomizers to pick out for the E-Power and one that will withstand thick liquids?

Thanks! :2cool:

I think you would like some 1.7 Smoketech XL carto's from Madvapes or Crystal Clear Vaping. They have less filler material and should hold up to thicker juices but they are very long...to hold more juice, though I like the shorter ones. Also a Boge 2.0 cartomizer would be a good choice. Since he likes ones that hold a lot of juice I would recommend looking into 3ml carto tanks from Big Daddy Vapor...but most vendors have them. But just get the pre-punched carto's or learn to punch yourself. I would not recommend dual coils on that battery...but they might work.

I know it's a lot of jargon and information, but if you get lost just PM me and I will do my best to help with what ever option you want.

Very excited that you guys are moving up to replaceable battery mods...it's the way to go for sure!

The E-Power 14650 you are considering is equipped with either the blue LED switch or the white LED switch.

Blue LED switch: will work with LR single coil cartos like the Smoktech 1.7 ohm LR XL, called by different names by some vendors.

White LED switch: will not work reliably with LR single coil cartos of less than 2.0 ohms.

If you don't know which version of the switch is on the E-Power you are considering, call the vendor and ask. Or, just purchase 2.0 ohm LR Boge carto or the 2.0 ohm LR XL carto from Smoktech.

I use both the Smoktech 1.7 ohm LR XL (sometimes called Resurrector or Rejuvenator) and the Smoktech 2.0 ohm LR XL with my E-Power 14650s. Both are excellent cartos of the same size. I don't see much difference in vaping one or the other.

18650 is just the battery size (capacity), but the voltage is the same as 14650 (3.7 volts), the capacity (mAh) determines how long before it needs a re-charge. At 3.7 volts most prefer to stay around 1.5 to 2 ohms, 3.7 volts will work on higher ohms but it won't get as hot. The higher the ohms the cooler the vapor.

Actually, we just decided to get an 18650 e-power from gotvapes.com. I don't understand the difference between dual coil, single coil etc..

Is a 2.5-2.7ohm top coil carto okay for this? Gotvapes has a video up of this cartomizer, and they are using a 14650 with it, so I assume that a 18650 would be more than enough to run it?

MAYBE with a top coil that would be OK but, that ohm range is considered "standard" and would be regarded as minimal for 3.7v...a low resistance carto would be better...with the current switch issues with the E-Powers, I would stick with Boge 2.0 ohm XL cartos such as these sold at Hoosiers...others sell them as well and they hold twice the juice as a standard sized carto 2.0 ohm low resistance cartomizers these cartos hold 2ml of juice and that translates into 50-60 drops(with my bottles)...it is important to fill them completely the first go round...properly filled, the top of the filler should look "slushy"...let them sit for a bit after filling before use and the center air channel should be clear(see light thru it).......
