Hmmm...how long did it take before you noticed this?

I believe it was about 5 days after I quit completely. This is following about 7 weeks of 2-4 a day, took me a little while to fully quit.

I have the amazing feeling for the first time in such a very long time, that it isnt to late to quit so whats the point.

This one hits home with me. I smoked for 40+ years and absolutely KNEW I could not quit. I had pretty much resigned myself to dying of some cigarette-related illness. Now I feel soooo hopeful. I read somewhere that after 3 years of not smoking, your lungs go back to the condition of a never-smoked person. I hope that's true. I'm counting on it.....

I now have grandbabies and I want to watch them grow up. I've never been more thankful for anything in my life than I am for these little miracles. That they are FUN and tasty is such a bonus. To tell you the truth, I'd try to stick with them anyway even if they tasted like crap. At least they work. Anything above "working" to keep me off cigarettes is just a great big bonus to me. I'm a happy vaper.

My dude at the counter no longer starts reaching for my favorite pack of ciggies when I walk up.

For the first time in 25 years, I can move at a faster pace than a slow walk...I have even taken up a sorta shuffling jog on my way home from work! THIS IS A MIRACLE! It ain't running, but it's a step in that direction.

I am drinking more water than ever, I am not eating like a pig, I am losing weight, and my clothes are looser.

My blood sugar level is lower, my cholesterol is lower, and I am not taking as many pain pills. My ears aren't ringing near what they used to.

I am sleeping better, ditto on the hair thing (softer, smelling better, growing) too.

I can concentrate at work. No more living to each break to escape to smoke. If I need to vape, I take a drag and move on.

My teeth are whiter and I am not even trying! For the first time in years, the little chip in one of my front teeth that has a resin fill? It's darker (and rather yellow!) and my teeth are white. It used to be the other way round! I may actually go get it replaced it's that discolored from the tobacco staining. Ditto on the gums, they are pink and healthy again, and moving back into place.

I can now grocery shop without pressure to break and run outside to smoke halfway through (huge comparison shopper, read all the ingredients type, takes a couple of hours to get through the store) I am not grumpy, I am not snarling by the time I get to the counter.

Emotionally? I feel like a whole new incarnation of the person I used to be pre-smoker. I am happier and my dating world has opened up to a whole nuther group of dudes...the non smokers! I am stronger mentally, I can think clearly now.

Thing is, it just keeps getting better and better!

Wow, I never even thought about the health of my gums from smoking...DUH! I've not really noticed that my teeth are whiter but it's only been a few weeks so we'll see. I should have taken a picture when I quit so I can have something to compare in a few months.
