I tried space jam eliquid and fell in love with it. I only had one large bottle and after two weeks I'm about to run out. I have some on the way but it isn't here yet so I tried to make what I have last and put some of the cheap crown seven brand I started on when I first switched a to vaping a month ago. OMG it tastes horrible now! I poured it out and now I'm mad that there is a hint of the flavor left. I was fine with it before the space jam but after two weeks of space jam I don't want the other one at all. It is tobacco flavored and the space jam is blueberry pomegranate so some of it I think is that I've turned that far away from cigarettes that tobacco repulses me now but beyond that there is just something about the space jam that, flavor aside, just is a better vape.

I'm very new to this so I have no idea how to even get an idea by looking at ingredients or what have you to tell what is something I may like. I'm sure that some of you vets can just look at xyz and have an idea of what is quality or what you like without using it. What should I look for?

Nope, there is no secret to knowing what I will like or dislike without actually trying it. To be honest, I am lucky if I enjoy vaping even 10% of the juices I try. I tend to favor tobacco flavors myself, but I still go out on a limb and try something, usually because it is highly recommended by others on ECF.

You should look for whichever flavor, price & vendor you like best. Look up some local stores and go visit them to try out new flavors or order sample packs from the registered vendors on this site.

I DIY my own e-liquid so I know what I put in it. Titles like Zombie Blood & Unicorn Tears scare me more than entice me. If I want peppermint, banana, raspberry--I go to my supply box and make some.

Some vendors do have their own little secret ingredient like Everclear, Lemon Juice, Apple Cider Vinegar, Saline Solution, etc. Some use only natural extracts for flavorings. Some use fancy bottles and/or glittery labels. Why do some people pay $300 for a purse when the $30 one from Walmart works just as well?

I always just get the smallest bottle available the first time and get whatever I think might be good.

More and more I'm learning to try lots of new things. I'm currently in love with PB & J, which I never expected to like so much. Also I find that some flavors grow on me over time, or are especially tasty with coffee or after dinner :)

I've tried a lot of vendors that other people recommend. Most of them are a bust, but there are a few jewels to be found. It helps to read a lot of these sort of posts and find someone who likes the same ones as you do. I have a bag of 'yucks' and 'mehs' in spite of ordering so many 'sample' sizes. And I have a tin of ones I love!

The 'yuck' bad, though isn't always bad. Sometimes I come back to it weeks later and find something that has changed so much it goes into the 'must order' tin LOL

I have luck with this, but it is luck… after a while, I think you develop the sense to anticipate… I pay attention to what they don't say… I am also immensely skeptical about higher priced juices in flashy bottles that make bold claims…

I truly hunt for vendors that have unique ways of making juice and there really aren't many… not at this point...

I'd start with what other people that love your juice love… I tried a space jam flavors and I think you'd be happy with a wide range of other vendors… good juice, but nothing unique - they are bright familiar fruity flavors - but heh - keep buying what works until it doesn't work anymore.

I haven't tried Space Jam, but like lasttango up there said maybe other people who like space jam can recommend something similar to you. If Space Jam is "bright familiar fruity flavors" then you might like the Vapor Chef, he makes great fruits, Pina Guavada is really good, and lots of people like Honey Pearry although I haven't tried that flavor yet-it's probably his most loved.

Try sample packs from various places and see what you like.

What sets various brands apart, that I've noticed, are things like:
some brands have a base that agrees with me, and others have a base flavor, something in the VG or PG they use, that leaves a weird after taste.
Some brands have a more natural type of flavor than others, some are more clean and crisp.
Some brands specialize in milder more subtle flavors, others are more boldly flavored
Some brands do a certain thing really well, like tobacco flavor, or fruit, or complex flavors.

I like to make note of things i might like to try, then i like to wait a bit and maybe do a google search for some reviews, or pay attention on here to what people who seem to like what I like say about them, or what people who don't share my tastes say as well-that can be a guide also. I will add their facebook page to my interest list so I can see when they have a sale-then i get some samples.

Anyway, samples are a good way to go-then you aren't stuck with a whole bottle if you end up not liking it.

Those close to me tend to like things in a certain "range" as far as I can tell. My mom is a fan of tobacco wannabes. My aunt favors heavier bakery flavors and a very narrow few fruity punches. My BIL will kill a man over peppermint and turns his nose up at anything else. Personally, I don't care for anything with a creamy/butter note or anything that vapes heavy. Other than that... gotta vape 'em all! Our local B&M lets us try before we buy so we don't end up with gallons of stuff we hate and if one of us hates it, one of us will swipe it as an ADV.

From what I see so far, most of the companies out there sell pretty decent stuff, only a couple stand out as being bad, and they were more obscure. There are some that stand out as more "gourmet" (ie. expensive), but the basic Mt. Baker flavors won't be a bad investment, even though they're cheap, and that's true for most smaller shops and local vendors who sell their own flavors. What i look for is a general consensus that they taste good, taste what they're advertised as, and fit whatever flavor profile I'm looking for or experimenting with. I took a couple chances with some flavors, but so far I like almost everything I've bought. So, I look for price, options like being able to adjust the PG/VG levels, adding flavor shots, and what kind of bottling it comes in.
