I guess that a lot of you are not sub-ohmers then. 11W?!? Do you even get any flavor or vapor off that?

With the right atty and build you can get really good flavor at low wattage and ok vapor production. My kayfun build is made for good flavorful mtl hits not for big clouds.

I also sub ohm using the same IPV4s but with my RDA's using builds anywhere from .25ohm to .9ohm. I run these from 30 to 50 watts depending on the build and RDA. I have vaped up to 80 watts but have found my sweet spot in RDA's is 30 to 50.

It all depend on what mood I'm in or where I am for what style of vape I decide to choose.

I am like Matty316, it all depends on situation and mood I am in, throughout most the day I am tootle puffing along in the 6 to 12watt range with a 12mg unflavored liquid, waking up, after eating, or just needing a change up, I've got Subtanks and drippers on mechs and a Sig150 or IPV3 I am in the 25 to 50watt range with 3 to 6mg liquids. Just because I have mods and attys that can handle higher watts, doesn't mean I need to be at those higher watts all the time, last year or so ago, yes I was into cloud chasing and flavor chasing solely on mechs and drippers, cost at that level became an issue for me so I stepped back down. With any device, have to build that device to what pulls the most out of it, this is generally in the coil and wicking, I've got a Reo Grande with an A7mini bottom feeder sitting at an wowing 1.6ohms that flavor wise is top notch while at the same time puffing out a decent cloud, on my Helios which is wider to get that from it I need to be in the 0.8 to 1.1ohm dual coil range, my Derringer at 1.1ohm single coil, my Zenith wider again at 0.5ohm dual coil. Been doing this long enough I am looking at balance and need most the time, not keeping up with what Joe Schmoe next to me is doing.

You crack me up with these threads. 4-7W was the norm for a long time.

I'm running this tripple parellel 30 gauge 9 wrap (27 total per coil) comes out to 0.4 ohms at 22W in a Velocity.

At 35W you could win a cloud comp with this coil.

Power only equals vapor and flavor production if you don't know what you are doing.

i'm not an advanced builder by any means, but i use the same philosophy - my velocity is currently set up with 10-wrap, 26 awg dual coils. comes in at around 0.8 ohms and blows massive clouds at 35 watts.

EDIT: full disclosure, powerfu+ mode on sx mini significantly helps in ramp-up time.

Yeah, no needing to pick a flavor, just grab the closest mod. ;)

Nice :D

Try a dual parallel 30 gauge 14/13wrap 2.5mm ID. Two will come out to 0.8 ohms. It will ramp up faster and cover a bit more surface area.

Twist the legs to keep the parallel wraps aligned. It should look like this

These work better than Claptons without all the added mass.

Of course we do!!! You don't need .01 ohm coils or 500 watts to get good flavor and vapor. I get outstanding flavor and vapor with a single 1.2 ohm coiled Nuppin and Odin on my Reo grand and my Kayfun Lite + Nano everyday!

Got some 30 AWG lying around, think I'll give it a try :)

Tbh, even a parallel coil is a little intimidating to me, and I've seen you around the forums enough to know that you're a certified, card-carrying master builder

Also dry burn clean better with not so many nooks and crannies to hold burned juice/carbon in.

Vaping on a Sigeli Zmax with modified cotton wicked T3S at 8 watts.

Awww shucks, I just mess about a bit.

It's not that much more difficult than a single wire coil. Just take it slow. The hardest part is when you get to twisting the legs. Keep the coil on the mandrill/drill-bit/whatever, hold the end you are twisting with one hand and grab the leg with a small plier or as I prefer a small locking hemostat and twist it slowly. Flip it over and do the same with the other leg.
