With the new regulations, what should I have a lot of for the future beyond 8/2018? Hardware, DIY liquid supplies, wire, batteries? I'm using e cigs to quit smoking, and my Dad completely quit smoking 10 months ago and still uses an e cig, so we were talking about that today. I DIY for liquid, so I imagine I'll need plenty of nicotine. I don't want to waste money on, for example, batteries or kanthal, if they'll still be easy to buy.

The biggest item I'm curious about is hardware. I was told by the salespeople at my local vape shop that the hardware isn't going anywhere and they'll just sell "flashlights" instead of PVs, but I'm pretty skeptical about that considering the FDA bans already in place. I know they've been told to sell more in-house and commercial liquid, because the overhead has to be pretty low on that and the profits very high at $20 per 30 ml, so no wonder they'd say not to worry about hardware. What is the truth? It matters: if I should be more worried about liquid, I could spend my hardware money on liquid instead, but in the event of a ban I don't want to have to build my own mod with Radio Shack parts either.

Start with what's likely to be hardest to get and most essential.

1. Nicotine
2. Atomizers. RBAs are best because you can rebuild them indefinitely.
3. Mods that take external batteries. Get all the VV/VW you want with plenty of backups. But, get a couple of mechs also.
4. Drip tips aren't a high priority. But, get them while you can.
5. Spare parts for mods/atomizers.
6. Flavorings if you prefer tobacco flavors.

Batteries, wire, non-tobacco flavorings, cotton/rayon, PG, and VG should remain widely available.

My stash has three things, nic, atomizers and mods. I have 5 liters of nic, 5 Pico mods, 5 VTC minis, and 10 SV rda clone atomizers. Total cost $650. I'm confident this will keep me vaping for 10 years. If the mods hold up better than expected and if frozen nic will last indefinitely then may be I'm good for 20 years but that seems a stretch. Everything else is generic and I'll buy it as I need it.

You'll need replacement orings for the atomizers. My SV rda uses generic orings and has no glass to break. By having multiples of the same mod if one of them becomes unreparable may be some of its parts will help keep another mod going longer. I think the fire button is the most vulnerable part of a mod and I'm betting I can fiind an electronics repair shop to replace that for me if necessary. I'm not stockpiling mods with built in batteries but I have a few of them and I believe an electronics repair shop could locate a replacement battery and install it so don't throw away that type of mod when the battery is dead.

I have 100 mg nic transfered to 1 liter amber glass bottles with the original label then put in a zip lock bag then wrapped with thin bubble wrap then that is put in another zip lock bag and it's all taped together and another label goes on that. (If I drop a bottle some day and it breaks I'm hoping the liquid will be trapped in the outer zip lock bag and I'll be able to salvage most of the nic.) When it's time to open a bottle it's transfered into 4 250 ml bottles for mixing. One liter will last me 4 years. I bought from two different sources just in case one of the batches spoils. If both batches last indefinitely I'm good for 20 years.

If the ban really takes hold in 8-18 I'll transfer the mods from their product boxes to acid free wrapping with silica salt and put that in an acid free box. I won't be using airtight containers.

The stash is a tight little package and I can only use one rig at a time so how come I also have so much vape junk?
