I'm a novice vaper, and I've been using basically the cheapest setup I could find. I've went up from an ego to an x6 with a protank, but I'm tired of my .... always breaking. I'm looking to make a huge upgrade, I want to spend about 100 dollars and I want to blow clouds. I've been looking at setups such as the aspire Atlantis sub ohm kit. I like rich, puffy clouds of favor with sweet or fruity flavors. I'm not familiar hardly at all with building my own coils. I prefer atomizer, but am open to suggestions. I like tube models, I think boxes are ugly. What would you veterans recommend for me?

First anything in an Ecig that puts out vapor is an Atomizer. If your wanting to stay with tanks I'd go with the Kanger Subtank. I have it and the reviews on the Subtank and the Atlantis are close but most lean toward the Subtank. I'f your going to go sub ohm. First you must have good working knowledge of Ohms law (this is not an optional thing). Second of Battery safety. If you put a .5 ohm head on the wrong battery you could have a bad day. The safest mods to use on sub ohm are Dual parallel 18650's or 26650's and for that you need a box mod. I doubt you will be able to stay within your $100. range using that. The Subohm alone is best case $40.00 then you need to buy heads and I think they go for like $18.00 for 5 heads. Good news is if you use a good battery/20amp minimum and don't go below .5 ohms you can use a tube type Mechanical mod or a Tube or ZNA VW/VV mod the will go to at least 30 amps and handles .5 ohm. I'm not up to date on the Tube type VW's so maybe someone can suggest one of them. I'm strictly box mod now. Love the dual battery thing. Like the longer time I get on dual batteries. For a Mechanical Mod I'd go with either a Nemesis or Hades brass or copper. Hope this is of some use to you.

In my opinion, putting a good atty on a cheap mod/battery device is... eh. 1st & foremost I think you should buy a good mod. I highly suggest a regulated device. They're safest, you can control how hard or light of a vape you get off of any atty and they're reliable, show ohms, battery power, etc.
Especially since you don't have any experience wrapping coils and are after clouds, you're probably going to tempted to make sub ohm coils, which I would not recommend for a newbie unless with a regulated device &/or having done plenty of homework on batteries, etc like steved said above.

For $100 your options are pretty limited.

I would highly recommend a Provari, DNA20, or DNA30 device. You might be able to find one for around $100 in the classifieds. That's probably your best bet with that budget. There are a lot of clones out there made in China for cheap but I have no idea how legit or safe their DNA chips actually are. Some claim to have DNA chips, but I don't know if they're legit & wouldn't be surprised if they clone out the chips which might compromise their reliability.

The best and one of the only DNA tube mods I know of are from mark bugs... but they're also some of the most expensive. Titanium is a LOT more expensive than their stainless steel 'apprentice' line. Futura was a cheaper DNA tube mod but they've gone out of business.

I think your best bet is to find a used provari in the classifieds. -they're reliable and last a long time. I have one I haven't touched in years but I put a battery in it the other day and it still works like a champ & I have friends who have used theirs for years and years without any issues.

There's a lot of cheap RDAs out there and you'd be surprised at the clouds I can kick from a 1.5ohm coil. Further down the road, after you've gotten more experience, with vaping, coil building, etc. sky's the limit. But for now I don't think you can go wrong with a provari you can get a classic for $160 new.

I just found this when doing a brief search. It says they use an authentic evolv DNA chipset and it's $100. For your budget, if you want a new device, this one should do the trick and is regulated down to 0.5 ohms, so you can go low safely and crank up the watts to 20.

(I have DNA 30 & 40 devices and I've never gone above 20W so this should work perfectly for you)

Cheers & happy new year
