Goodprophets looks pretty good . thanks

What would you like to see built . Im not currently working on anything ,just getting various pv parts together first and learning what connectors and stuff i should use .

A 18650-based, replaceable battery, boosted, VV mod with recharger built in. ...choice of battery connectors.

It will be 18650 for sure since i always have dozens on hand due to my hp flashlight hobby . Replaceable battery for sure . My goal is definitely variable voltage with boost/buck circuit ran by pic mcu . It will be programmable by amount of button pushes coded in the mcu . So far im thinking a standard 510 battery connection . The part i need to learn would be the actual PV parts and connectors since im really new to PV's and dont know what connectors etc is better than others . As far as charger built in im not sure i want to do that but we will see when the time comes . With 18650's i like using what works as in a known reliable charger like the Pila or Xtar .

If anyone got any tips on stuff i should know feel free to let me know .

I have a few idea for the tube which will be made from polished aluminum on the cnc . Its gonna be a long time before i have anything to show but it should be a fun project and hopefully get me interested enough to fully quit analogs .

Honestly, all the button pushing is what turned me off from the ProVari. If you could find an easier way to control the reg. I'd find it a lot more interesting.
My favorite has a switching reg. that is controlled by a thumb wheel. Love the ease of that but it isn't a booster. Uses stacked 16340s.

I concur with the thumbwheel for VV. I'm tried of menus and memorized sequences. Okay as well on the charger. A choice between 510 and 808 connectors might broaden your market. I prefer a small box to a tube for the reason that they can stand upright on a desktop with less opportunity to be overturned. Check Radio Shack Catalog #: 270-1801. A switching and boosting regulator, if there is such a thing would be great.

I understand that button sequences arnt the most comfortable but it is the easiest way to use with the mcu . Maybe i can make something for the basic functions like where there a ring on the tube that rotates to change voltage and leave the button sequences just for the status and error display if you get what i mean . Id much rather use a tube over a box mod . im not a big fan of box mods cosmetically . Btw a switching reg can do buck,boost or both buck/boost .

It really depends on what you want. Madvapes has some things but, if you want boost, you'll be going somewhere else. Lots of sites have battery connector. I've seen them on liberty flights and avidvapor.

Yes was looking for places more for the actual pv parts then actual circuit components .

Yes I am researching too also to build a tube type mod, not as complete as the one you described but similar. The only part is the 510 or 808 connector for pv standards.
The problems are with the quality of the connectors check this thread;
www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/modding-forum/220677-quality-510-connectors.html
also the sticky's in the mod forum has a lot of useful info on 510,808 thread making to help
make your own quality. Here is a link and hobby away. Don't forget to have fun too :laugh:
