Lol... Yesterday I read this thread and decided to do a burn of my ceramic. Took my Ody apart, put in a new ceramic, reassembled, and proceeded to burn the old one. As I was placing the old ceramic on a block of aluminum on my desk, I slipped and it fell into my briefcase/camera bag (a Tenba Messenger - medium). The ceramic was hot so it meted a hole straight through four layers of Nylon and two layers of medium density urethane foam. I had to grab it with pliers!

I redid the burn, but now I have a hole in my case!

Sorry to hear it I melted a shammy in the same way kinda. Now I have a bottle of vodka to quench it on hand always.

I haven't torched mine since I'm still using my original broken one, no way I'd be able to remove it in one piece. I have a spare, but (to my surprise) the cracked one has been working just fine all along, even though it is getting a little on the brown side. It will be due to be swapped out soon, I'm sure

Yeah, I have knack for burning myself with ecigs...a few months back, I full on picked up an ody ceramic after torching it. Wasn't wrapping any new coils for a while after that b/c of the blisters on my thumb and forefinger. No pain no game I guess, and at least I haven't pulled that move since xD

Not to mention the scar I now have on my shoulder from falling asleep on my 7.4v dual 18650 GGTS/UFS/Ody setup. I can be an idiot, but hopefully my blunders will help people to avoid making some of the same mistakes that I so stupidly have :D
