I gave the e-cig that I got from that "free offer" to my son, but I canceled their (very expensive) cartomizer subscription. I'm not sure what type of carto it uses though. It's not the same as the 808 I have in the Nebula. Are there only two types of cartomizers basically? I need to get a few for him until there are more nebula's available, they're out of stock for the moment.

No there are lots of different threadings.

What is the diameter of the battery - less than 9mm or slightly over 9mm? If under 9mm forget it.

If over 9mm...

If the battery has male protruding threads and the cartomizer has recessed female threads, and KR808D-1 (Nebula) cartos do not fit, then either try KR808D-2 cartos (Greensmoke or blanks from Vaporkings.com or AZSMokeFree.com) OR INSTEAD try a D2 to D1 adapter from LeCig.com (if that adapter works then you could use your Nebula cartos)

If the battery has recessed threads and the cartomizer has male protruding threads then it is most likely RN4081 threading or 510 threading. You could either try two 99 cent adapters from Goodprophets (510 to 808. and 4081 to 808 - or they may say 510 to KR808D-1 and 4081 to KR808D-1) and see if either of those makes your Nebula cartos work on it. OR you could first buy some RN4081 cartos (SmokeStik Hendu, njoy Npro, Njoy 2-n-1 at some 7-11's) and if they don't work then try Boge 510 3 ohm (standard resistance) blank cartomizers (or you can find some prefilled 510 cartos at LiquidXpress and Chinese juice ones at Vaporkings.com)

None of the above is guaranteed to work because some ripoff rebranders purposely use models that are incompatible with anything. Also - if 510 threading works, it does not mean he has a 510. Never stick his battery in a 510 charger. There are multiple models with 510 threading and some are reverse electrical polarity.

If you need to find something locally, check VaporSearchUSA.com

And IMO - just treat this as a stop-gap and have him get something decent, popular and compatible.

Thanks dormouse, it is definately a "stop-gap" and am wanting to get him a Nebula (or some other KR808D-1 type model) so we can use the same type of carts, and all. I would give him one of the new Nebula batteries I have coming, but then we'd have to share the charger I have. So I figured he could use the icky one, (he is an old pot smoker, and has better drawing power than I do, lmao). I wouldn't sweat the extra cartos since I am just refilling them for now, but I don't know how long Vapornine will be out of stock of their Nebula starter kit. That's such a great deal. Even the similar volt on the other site mention is nice, but way more expensive for a similar level of kit. That of course supposes that when Vapornine gets more stock they still keep the same pricing I got mine at.

At any rate, his using the e-cig thing is just temporary for a week or so I hope. He's liking the whole vape vs smoke thing too, and that makes me happy. He's too young to end up at 50-year old with over 4 decades of bad lungs like me.

For a long dragger I recommend V4L batteries - the ones that say they have a custom 10-13 second cutoff. And I always recommend manuals - harder to kill, easier to get a good hit every time. For cartomizers I prefer V4L WOW cartos (hot on lips - need a plastic or delrin drip tip as mouthpiece) and the SmokelessImage/Bloogplanet cartos (very nice and absorbent horizontal coil so cooler on lips)

And if anyone needs a longer charge backup in their pocket - MadVapes sells a little 901/808 3.7v box mod. I just got one so I wouldn't have to use an adapter on my 510 mods to get more charge. The color-charging LED is rather bright and crazy but a bit of black paint could tame that.
