I've been thinking of making my own e liquid and i've bought some VG from walmart and i don't need any liquid nicotine since i'm not going to try to make a batch with nicotine until i get used to making my own. So my question is can i use flavoring extract from the supermarket like McCormicks banana extract as a flavor i checked the ingredients and they are

water, alcohol(34%), natural and artificial flavors, and fd&c yellow 5

just wanted to make sure it was safe before i tried to make any.

The FD & C yellow is very bad to vape....fumes are toxic from what I have read. Do a search on "Popcorn lung"

The "popcorn lung" case was caused by airborne diacetyl. FD&C Yellow is tartrazine. There's some study into the linkage of a variety of immunologic conditions to the consumption of tartrazine, but so far they are inconclusive. That said, I probably wouldn't vape it, just to be on the safe side.

However I was looking at Club House flavourings myself just this afternoon and wondering if a few of them -- ones made with oil essences or extracts with low alcohol contents -- might not be good for use in liquids.
