I was going through e-mails earlier today and it made me laugh. I found an invoice for my first ever device. It blows my mind to think for the price I paid I got tiny little batteries with a piece of plastic and some rope for a tank.

I remember later meeting the vendor at the foodcourt of a mall in Ottawa. At the time it felt like a drug deal; I was half expecting the mall security guards to crash our party and throw me in cuffs.

I managed to find my first 'mods' hiding under some cotton in my vape kit. Just gave them a hit on the old nautilus mini and after all these years they still work!

What did you guys start on?

Here's my invoice & first 'mods':

Quit smoking the day I received these in the mail. I've owned over 120 mods and who knows how many attys in the three years since.

edit: just found the invoice... the stuff below some plus some coil heads came to nearly $90, lol.

Ego AIO. We were going for a weekend in the mountains and I made my husband wait until the mail came because I knew it was out for delivery. Charged it up during the ride, set it up and took a big puff expecting it to be amazing aaaaaand coughed my brains out. Used cigar type puffs all weekend sought out my local vape shop after we got home. Also joined ecf that weekend and between ecf and my local vape shop figured things out.

Cloud9 . First ecig available in my state. 2006 or 7 maybe?

I remember those! My mom had bought one from the Pharmacy when they came out. I think her interest in it lasted the better part of an hour before she put it away and forgot about it.

When I tried it I had to look down to double check if I was actually exhaling vapor.

My Sister got me a nicolite ecig last year I liked it and did cut down but it was so expensive to buy the carts for it. Then a few weeks ago I got it out and wondered if i could refill the carts, a little youtube search said yes you can. So i got some liquid and bobs your unkle. Upgraded since then but hopefully I wont be buying anymore mods and will be cig and vape free before Christmas :)

I started on the NJoy kits, where they gave you two tiny ecigs, and juice was installed via a dripper! My husband recently found one of his and I was like, "Give it here! Give it here!" And he was like, "My dear wife, I think you have plenty of vaping equipment just now," and carried it somewhere.... I wanted to see how it was, LOL, but I now see it tucked away in one of his baskets. I am so stealing it. :) I just want to observe the difference and he can have it back, heh.

To be fair to that product, I quit smoking for a month then I had to go back to work like immediately (health issues in the family), and it was stressful... I found myself smoking on the way to job interviews, heh. It does bring me back to the old days, where something like that could be new and exciting.

I really may charge, then vape it :)

For me it was an iStick 30, Nautilus Mini, a 5 pack of coils and 3 crappy 10ml bottles of 18mg tobacco flavoured juice.

All for the low low price of $125!

Actually a great starter kit, but I ditched tobacco flavours within a few days. I remember thinking "fruit and backers flavours? Barf!" Haven't touched a tobacco flavour since.

I started with the tiny batteries and disposable cartomizers, I think back in 2009 or 2010. They really didn't work very well. I used them to avoid smoking in the car with my kids but still smoked. Back in 2013 I used them to try to actually quit and bought a bunch of the little batteries. Still wasn't good enough. I finally bought a Vision Spinner and that did the trick. So even though I can say I have been vaping off and on for about seven years I count purchasing and using that Vision Spinner as the beginning of my vaping because that was when I first was able to go without smoking.
