I started with a Smoke51. They were RN4081 then. Paid $4.99 shipping and was allowed to keep the ecig after cancelling (it was severely defective!)... and did not get sucked into the expensive auto-fill program. I then went to a PILOT Truck Stop and bought an njoy NPRO (RN4081) Kit and joined ECF... the rest is history

Bought a cigalike kit from a gas station about 6 months or so ago used it rarely, just didn't give the kick I needed even though it was a 24mg nic content. The vapor was so sporadic I think that turned me off more than anything. Yesterday picked up a ego-c 650mah and haven't wanted to have a cig since. Just got a stardust and some liquid this morning and like it alot :D

I started with a 901-t (tank system) from a vendor located in central NY, where my brother got his first kit. For anyone who has used a 901 atty, they can tell you that the vapor production and flavor is actually very good for a compact device, but the cig-a-like batteries are a problem.

Since then: eGo-C kit; eGo-C batteries with various clearomizers; Lewis Gentry wood mod with carto tank; eGo-Twist batteries with various clearomizers; ProVari with various carto tanks.

I've given away the 901t and eGo-C setups to family, but I still use the others and they've been working great!

I forget it's name! It was one of the egos. Came direct from China and I got to choose colors of everything. So I got white with gold metal. It had a cap with a clip so it was pen style and the tank was clear with a cover that had a slot so I could see if the tank was empty or full. It had a red light on off power button. I went to Pyrex glass tanks / carto afterwards due to the cracking tank thing

I messed with some expensive electronic cig (basic cigarette-looking model) 2 years ago that had been on the radio. It worked alright for a month, but then I was back on smokes. I suppose I wanted something a bit more satisfying.

I'd still been wanting to quit smokes still so last month, after learning the basics I bought a tank kit (Bazooka from Smoke Revolution) which is the VGO King model. It's definitely helped keep me smoke-free for the past few weeks.

The first thing I ever vaped on was one of those disposible things that was supposed to be equal to 2 packs. What a joke. I chocked my through it in a day or two between analogs. But it got me started. Next I went to the drug store and bought a cheap (ha ha) kit and some cartos (510s) because I was going to quit smoking one way or the other. I had been studing all kinds of mods and batteries and settled on the full sized X-2s that Smokeless image sells and a T-3 clearomizer and a bottle of menthol flavor juice.

Now I own 2 of those X-2s and bought a couple of their smaller cigarette sized batteries to go as take alongs to the store or other places along with a set of blank cartos. Soon to start DIY juice mixing.

AND don't try to give me any crap about 510 being any better then eGo, that is a bunch of crap anyway. The ONLY difference is that there is a lot more choices with the 510s then the eGo but they all produce the same amount of vaper. It is all cosmetic.

I've been reading around the new member's forum, and it seems to me that almost every starters started out with an ego/kgo battery, a twist or spinner etc. So now i'm kinda feeling special, but not in a good way. Found out about vaping in mid August, and bought my own in December.

My first ever PV was the Telescope, which is where my forum name was named after. My only reason for buying that was it so aesthetically appealed to me that i did not have second thoughts, I bought it already. I didn't even think about if it had some kind of battery/short circuit protection, i just bought it. Then i found out about VV/VW devices which obviously the Telescope didn't have. So i got a Young June Lavatube 1.5 (the first YJLT i think) and i was more than happy. Yeah i know i'm pretty late to the party, but i didn't care because i was more than happy with it.

These are my only 2 mods right now, and I think I'm now getting crazy over mods! Am I the only one who started out vaping like this? I don't wanna be the only one who missed out on the Ego phase of vaping, haha

Well, you certainly did jump in with both feet! That's pretty cool...but not everyone can pull that off and be comfortable about it. Still...kudos and congrats to you!

I started out quite pedestrian like most. First was the Safe Cig, then moved to KR808D-1s and used V2 and Volt a couple of months. Then tried a "vGo" which was a KR808 version of the eGo. Loved it. A few months later I gave the kGo and eGo a try. Pretty good...but then Smokeless Image came out with the X2 (basically a rebranded vGo) and I went with that for several months before discovering the joys of mechanicals. Overall the journey from cigalike to the Telescope for me took about a year! lol!! I did get a LavaTube last April and it was okay, but didn't impress me. Tried the Twist and meh. It was just okay. Not that impressed. I concluded that VV probably wasn't for me. Until.....

In January a friend gave me a VV Gripper. That was all she wrote, baby! I was all in with the PWM and VV (even though I don't really change my voltages (much) still...I LOVE the punch of PWM). Now about all I use is the VV Grippers and the Ovale V8s. Expecting a Ovale V6 in the mail today (I hope! I hope! I know it's in town!!) for back up. And besides it's white. I get a bit wore out with black and silver in the box mods style. It doesn't have full range VV...only three settings. But one of them is MY setting and I've confirmed it, too, has PWM. So...once it gets here I'll have 2 VV Grippers and 3 Ovale V8s and one Ovale V6. Those, with my 4 mechanicals, two eGo T Mods, and all the stuff I accumulated last year (8 X2s, 6 eGos, 4 vGos, etc. etc.) should get me through the Zombie Vapocalypse. I hope.

Started out with a gas station Mistic E Cig and loved it! Then got an Ego Twist and started drooling, then got a Provari and didn't sleep for days, just got my Atmizoo Roller and don't know what to do with myself. All the ones in between kept me occupied as well. Recently tried a Mistic again and can't believe I ever even looked at that thing.

It's exciting to think about what the future holds as long as big brother doesn't ruin it all for us soon...

i first tried e-cigs with some cheap chinese "health cigarette" kit i got a good number of years ago (2007? something like that) but wasn't very impressed. i used it a few times in airports but otherwise ignored it. years later i got a V2 starter kit and was very impressed with how far e-cigs had come. there was nothing out of the ordinary to that basic V2 kit other than i started vaping when i got it and by the end of the day realized i had only smoked 3 tobacco cigarettes or so --instead of two packs.
i couldn't be happier i gave e-cigs a second chance. i had seen them get more popular but had just assumed they were the same thing as that early version i had tried.
