What was your first PV? And what do you use today?

I started with an eGo starter kit that I paid way too much for. It was absolute junk and always felt me frustrated and annoyed. However, it did get me off cigarettes, so for that I'm grateful. I've now got a bit of everything and really enjoy rda's.

Provari v1(over 2yrs with this one device) along with cartos, ego c mega tanks (both fails for me) then stardust clearos.

Now it's IPV mini 2 with atlantis, arctic or ego one tanks. All wins imo.

vaping is so much more satisfying nowadays. Cheers.

Land of many beaches.
My starter kit appears to be CE4 clearomizers on ego 650mah batteries. Overpriced and priceless at the same time. It got me started.

Nautilus with Aspire 1600mah VV battery. Ordered on day two, it's got me to day 18 so far. I like this one. Battery will become my backup and lasts through 16 hours use on the Nautilus.

Aspire 3000mah CE Maxx VW battery. To go with the Nautilus for more consistency and longer battery life. It's on it's way. This will be my mainstay for some time to come.

Ego One Mega. It's on it's way. First foray into lower ohms, higher watts and miniature raincloud creation. For testing purposes.

EVOD duel kit then because it was shiny EVOD 2 (gave it away) then eleaf 20 (evod tanks) then gave original EVOD to son bought kangertech geni tank (don't use it much) then a nautilaus aspire not wonderful then bought nautilaus mini use it pretty much all the time also bought kayfun 4 clone I could never get to work then two drippers - why I would think I need two I have no idea, like the dripper -not all the time but occasionally, I think my current set up an I stick 20 with a nautilaus mini is quite good right now but I suspect I still have a lingering case of shinyitis the best flavour for me is the dripper el diablo Baal at 3 mg nic in a max vg juice

I've had pretty much the same experience as you have Carwashromance. My starter kit was an eGo C, an improvement over the eGo T at the time but it was still maintenance intensive and expensive to run. I stuck with that for a few months and it got me off cigarettes for which it will always have a fond place in my heart.

These days I mostly vape regulated box mods or mechanical mods, both mostly with RDAs though the new tanks are getting really good too :)

Just to be open with everyone - my daughter and I did not start vaping to quit smoking. We had quit smoking cold turkey around 9 years ago, when we could not afford the price of cigarettes. We both enjoyed smoking, and the desire to smoke never left. Around 3 years ago, stress and cravings were making smoking seem more and more desirable, so we started looking into vaping (my daughter had heard about ecigarettes somewhere online), to see if we thought it would take care of the cravings and help us continue to be ex-smokers.

We started off small, with a couple of Blu disposables, just to see if we thought it would be worth it to invest in starter kits. I, myself, did not think ecigarettes would be a viable option for us. Luckily for us, I was very, very wrong. The disposables showed me that we could stay away from cigarettes, and still be happy and satisfied.

We got ourselves a couple of Blu starter kits. They worked quite well for us, but we soon got tired of the inconsistent quality control - prefilled cartos that were dead from the get-go, the rechargeable case that my daughter got that quit - twice (they replaced the first one), refilling the cartos was a pain in the donkey, etc.
This was right around the time when Blu was sold to Lorillard Tobacco. We moved on to 808 systems that had refillable cartos, and started playing around with different flavors, nicotine levels, and pg/vg ratios. We were happy, except for the fact that certain flavors (chocolates, mainly) clogged the cartos, and once they were dead, they were very dead.

A little over a year ago, we finally had the finances to invest in Evod kits for both of us. We are still using them, and are quite happy with them - for us. We use our Evod 650 mah batteries with Protank 2 Minis, Evod Glass, and the original Evod single coil tanks. We use the same Kanger single coils for all tanks, and I love the fact that I can clean and re-use the coils at least 2-3 extra times before I pitch them (being raised by parents who grew up during the Depression, I am the cheapskate of cheapskates sometimes). I am now trying to learn how to re-wick the coils to further prolong their life.

All in all, we are very happy with the basic equipment that we have. We have not had the urge to "light up" since our first disposables. We may upgrade to better batteries eventually, but what we have now does the job, and we are proud and happy to continue to be ex-smokers thanks to ecigarettes.

As it is my nature to research purchases thoroughly (my wife would say obsessively), it was months after I joined ECF that I finally bought my first PV. The fine folks here convinced me that I did not need a cigalike nor was it necessary to obtain juices which tasted as bad as cigarettes. I bought DeKang and Tasty Vapor and, with fewer hardware choices in 2009 agonized over a Screwdriver or a Chuck. I bought the latter, still have it and, after annual button replacements, it still works.

@glointhedark - really enjoyed your story; thanks for sharing it!

When I first started I knew nothing at all about vaping but was looking to stop smoking. I went into my local shop and saw some cigalikes on the shelf so I asked the woman behind the counter what they were. She told me that they where a new way to help quit smoking so I decided to try one.
After smoking for 16 years and trying and failing to quit with patches, gum and inhalers I was hoping this would finally be the thing to help me and it did. I managed to stay off the cigs for a whole week!

After that I decided to do some research into vaping and it really opened my eyes up to what was available. Now a couple of years later I'm happily vaping away with my 60w infinate vapor flask with tc and have never gone back to smoking.

My very first set was a cigalike (RedKiwi ES-504G)
I switched to an eGo-C pretty fast and vaped it for quite a while. After a few months I stopped vaping and started snusing for quite a long time.
When I came back to vaping I started using my first clearos (CE4) and bought my first regulated mod which was the Lavatube v1.

I still have all that hardware :D

Today I'm using RTAs on VW boxes.

Started with the V2 with non-refillable cartridges. Luckily didn't cost me much as I immediately went to YouTube and found the videos for refilling the cartridges. Order two more packs of five cartridges and kept refilling them until they all died. I got a ismoka mini tank and a 450mh battery during this time on sale for $30 from my local vape shop and started using that exclusively as it produced enough vapor to get me completely off the death cancer sticks using 24 mg liquids. Since then, upgraded the batteries to the large spinner II's. Still like the Ismoka mini tanks, and still using them. Plenty of vapor, very few problems with the tanks, almost no leaking at all. Dropped my nic level down to 6mg, planning on going to 3 mg and then zero. I was a one to two pack a day smoker for 40+ years. I figure PV's more than likely saved my life, no thanks to the crappy medical establishment, who won't take the time to research it and recommend it to the lifetime smokers for quitting.

650 Ego and CE5. Then Spinners, MVP1, SVD, KMax, Vamo, Tesla VV, IStick 20, Sigelei S-ET, SVD2, Tesla VII, Cloupor Mini... (did somebody say "obsessive"? :w00t:) And a few mechs for vapacolypse.

Toppers went from top coil to T3 (then those upgraded to T3S bases), Protank, PT2 and equivalent Davide versions, Kayfun types, Lemo, Orchid, SubTank and mini...

All but the fixed voltage are still in use and in rotation, although the KFs are my favorites.

Started off with eGos, Boge Leos with blue foam. Not much to choose from back then. I was afraid my wife would put me in the doghouse if I ordered a Provari back then :D Today that's all my wife vapes with :D I have tons of stuff. Mechs, box mods, you name it. Prefer RDA's than tanks any day. Right I'm enjoying the SX mini M class with a Vector RDA. I just love it all. I'm obsessed ! :D
