Wood Fire stick and Nautilus with 24mg Zeus Lemon and VV kona coffee. Miserable setup for me. Took a 30w istick and STM to get me off smokes.
I stepped up from the 650mAh Atmos to a dozen

for 6 or 7 bucks on Ebay
then moved on to Protanks, all the different itinerations of VAMO

sold at fasttech,
cheap RDA's, and Kayfuns.

I tried several commercial juices but it didn't take me long to get into .DIY
Having gone through the Vapocalypse scare and suffered my share of Shinyitis
I now have a lot of stuff including a mini freezer full of nicotine.

Besides the basic cig a like that alot of us started on , it was really rebuilding that did it for me and have been rebuilding ever since. It was genesis atomizers, specifically the DID atty and a mech that made it official and I have yet to vape any tank that was or isn't rebuildable since 2011 although I did vape carts and old dripping attys for a little while just before gennys

I started with a Smoov E-cig kit...

Smoov 78mm Dual Starter Kit - Black

At the time it cost ~100 bucks. It was really worth it as it showed me that vaping could work.
A few months later I paid a bit more and got a Kanger ProTank Mini and an original 510 eVic (11 watt).
Then I found ECF then recoiling and a few years later here I am with my Ares tank atop my Eleaf Aster.

No name cigalikes, 510s and cartos that were two ohms plus and leaky usually unmarked bottles of 36 mg though not sure what on earth was IN them. The first time I got real dekang ry6 and ry4 juice was like a revolution lol. It's so much easier now for people to get starting, willpower, massive technical skills and the ability to deal with constant issues and funky yuck tasting god knows what's in it and certainly not safe plastic bottles are a thing of the past.
Innokin I taste vv batteries (the square ego type ones that would not roll off tables) and nautilus mini tanks when they came alongside changed my vape life. And now I look around at devices that have batteries that last for days, top fill tanks you can swap a coil on in 20 seconds and a zillion yummy safe juices and I still think wow. I get how it's overwhelming for new people but at the same time it's wonderful because now there is something that will work for everyone. The trick is to find it!

My brother gave me a cig-a-like from a brand called Cig or e-Cig (can't remember) in 2012. Terrible with no draw and sat in my drawer until one night in the summer of 2013 where I ran out of smokes and didn't want to go to the store in a rain storm. It got me through the night and planted the whole ecig thing in my head. Still got that set up around here somewhere.

Mine was an ego-C in 2014 with CEO4. It got me to stop the cigs and I had to have tobacco e-liquid for 2 years. In that time never entirely satisfied and went through various different devices...innokin, and various others until I migrated up to mods with rebuildable coils. Started smoking again in 2017 and have just given up again using the vaporesso Polar with the sub-ohm tank and I'm impressed...love-it and gone diy because of the new EU rules.
