The states is like a patient the doctor gives up on because he has cancer, heart disease, rotted lungs, and is blind, deaf and paralyzed. The question I think, now, is which ailment will we die of..

Peak oil? Fake money? Crooked government? Thieving immigrants? Passive Americans? Lower and lower GDP? Lack of resources? The current generation?

We all know how horrible all of these are, but, which ONE will ultimately send us over the edge... and what will happen?

That's the big question. What will happen, when something finally happens?
It's all coming to a head ..

This has been on my mind lately. I tried to take a break from thinking about all of this for a couple of years since me caring so much seems to upset normal people. But it's really bothering me, lately. The injustices in the states are so egregiously horrible, now, it's just like an episode of the twilight zone unfolding before our eyes.

I can't even stand to turn on any mass media any more..
To the people who can, what are they telling you? What's everyone thinking?

You can ask a mod to move it to the outside. but I don't mind commenting here just because I don't think it's all that controversial. It is what it is.

With any luck we will change as peacfully as the Societ Union did. The overextention of our empire, which neccessitates the printing of money, the buying of votes which also keep us broke when we pay pack the bribery with trillions. These will eventually destroy the dollar. We will see first deflationary cycles in non essensials, like the housing market. yes it's a non-essential as long as you can rent or move in with someone. The necessities will continue to go up leaving people with less to spend on everything else. The Fed and the other elite will continue to loot as long as they can. Hopefully they will flee the sinking ship without trying to put down a rebellion or starting the last and final war. I say let them go, flee rats, flee with your ill gotten gains. We are better off without you. I am sick of seeing people bought off with pretty shells and beads (cheap trinkets from China) Leave me alone on my small peice of land, I'm ready willing and able to handle myself just fine without them and their extortion.

what scares me the most is what will happen in the cities and what will happen to our Joe's if they get trapped overseas with no way to get home.

The scariest part about the money is that our government doesn't even have authority over it.. I've known this since I was a young child because I always spent time with older people who were ... "connected" (if you will) ... now we have DOCUMENTARIES ON YOUTUBE and people still don't seem to be doing anything.. I can tell you, most of it is REAL. I guess that it all sounds too "far out" for most people to even wrap their minds around. The dollar HAS NO value, and I don't know how long other countries are going to hold it, base theirs on ours or accept it for their goods.

Seems to me that the "wealth" will go to the chinese because they're so intelligent and productive .. It scares me .. and they own so much of us through debt (which is worse than outright owning us.. debt does enslave.)

You're right about real estate, but what will happen? The government wants no part of actual ownership.. They enjoy being the tax ...... making us own and rent simultaneously. Are you saying that housing will all be owned by huge corporations like most things are? That would be interesting. I, like you, know that housing could have never stayed where it was. Hyper inflation is what it is.

Alot of people offed themselves because they had been so stupid buying when everything was "good" (at all time highs) .... Everyone rushed into real estate and now have no idea of what to do with it.. Most of these so called investors were just ...... who had no business investing in a can of soda pop. I've literally seen idiots buy houses based on "what the place down the street was selling for".. and that being a house with one more bedroom that'd sat on the market for a year gathering dust

Then we have these people who used exotic financing they didn't even TRY to understand to get into three times the house they could afford... now the big bad bank is "stealing their home" .... the bank doesn't want it EVEN IF there's equity. Period. They certainly don't want to "steal" someones $100k home they've loaned them $250k to buy!!

Do you think they'll just leave? I'm concerned that they're very confident now that it's been shown how easily controlled we are.... we're going to be useful for a long long time as tax slaves.. and if they walked away, wouldn't some other sinister power come in and take the reins??

So many unanswered questions.
I know what's happening, but no one knows what is GOING TO .. You know?

The time to turn things around is NOW, before we get farther into the hole. I don't understand the reasons that we are poised to spend more money that we don't have to create more socialist programs that will break us.

I post this for two reasons. It's funny at first and then you become concerned because it is not as far fetched as it seems. It happened to the Russians. They lost territory by returning the satellite countries to their own sovereignty.

I'll just give you a short and sweet answer.

I believe that what will bring (or is currently bringing) about the end of the United States, is our moving away from what originally defined us as the United States. The further we move away from our founding principles, the worse we become.

What has been discussed so far in this thread (I'm not saying they aren't valid concerns, they are) are merely symptoms of the greater disease. I say we need to reboot the system and go back to the "factory default" settings. That is what we do with a computer. "I don't know how I went wrong, but it was working right on this date. Hit 'system restore' and try to not make the same mistake again"

Of course, how to go about doing that, is another discussion altogether. I don't have any answers for that one.

Even after 10 years in the military couldn't agree more Angelique

People in the service (any branch) usually have more insight.. As an example, some of the ones I know have been telling me for years now about the permanent housing they've been building in iraq. For years now. Everyone I know who is a civilian seems to have no idea. Interesting, to me, anyway.

I don't think it will mean the end of the USA by any real means... But (as all the politicians are saying) Change is coming, and most likely not change by just putting another talking head into an overpaid spot in the government. People really are fed up myself included, and most those that are either veterans (myself included) and active duty military.

All up in your grill..
It is what you would call a self fulfilling prophecy. Our leadership's minds have been so warped by their religious teachers that they are making global decisions as if the world was going to end in the next ten years. As long as the people in charge subscribe to that bizarre belief, they will continue to print more money with no backing and invade oil rich countries as a temporary solution to the coming energy crisis so that they and all their rich cronies can be comfortable while they wait for armageddon.

The economy. In a few yrs. (10 to 15) the US will no longer lead the worlds economy. I was thinking this morning (OH OH) anyway everyone is mad at the immagration thing and them doing work here but what about all the US companies sending jobs overseas? Whats the difference in the cheap labor coming here or taking it to them?
