What would you do in this situation? *Limitless RDA

Hey everyone.

So yesterday I purchased a Limitless mod co. rda. Paid $90 for it. It was the very last one in the shop, so it was the one that was on display, which is fine. The shop will email you a receipt if you'd like, but they don't have standard paper receipts. I never ask for an emailed receipt. Shame on me, right?

So anyways, I get the rda home and realize there's a chip in the paint. Not the end of the world, but still a bummer. But then I realize the top cap literally falls off with hardly any effort. There was an o ring, and I even switched it out with another just to make sure. But it made no difference. I can't imagine that a $90 rda would have such a loose fitting cap. Like, it would be so easy to lose the cap...it just can't be right.

So what I'm asking is, Is it worth bringing it back to the shop? Even without a receipt? Which I admit is my own stupid fault for not getting one. But I paid a lot of money for this thing.... I'm feeling discouraged, what should I do?

And please, no rude comments.

As long as they remember you or they have you on file with an account, most shops in my area do, then you should be fine bringing it back. $90 on an RDA is an awful lot for something with so many faults. The worst theyll say is no so go for it.

That was my thought! I usually buy clones and have never spent more than $35 on an RDA. I wanted to treat myself, you know? I'll stop by today. I'm a frequent shopper, so hopefully they'll help me out.

You bought this at an B&M, and didn't get a reciept....... Did you look at the atty through the case or actually touch it while you were looking? Not getting a reciept is your fault, you probably should have walked away, because of this. Now a reputable shop will help you out.. But if they don't, you as the buyer are just a responsible for these problems as they are. Next time pay attention to what you are buying. Pay closer attention. Wait till you find out that $90 authentic, is the same $35 authentic clone you could have gotten at Fasttech. There are to olf fashion rules to apply in this situation, Buyer Beware and The Customer is Always Right, While contradictory they are BOTH correct.

Are you sure it is an authentic?
How do you know for sure its not a clone?
Well, it's beautifully built with authentic looking packaging. Which doesn't mean anything. I do trust my local shop. They've been nothing but honest. I truly don't believe they'd screw anyone over. But, I suppose it's possible. My fault for not getting a receipt. I'd never had a single problem with anything purchased from them. All their authentic items come with scratch n' check codes, so it never crossed my mind. But I'll go and see them today. It still works amazingly, and perhaps my complaints are petty.

I'm not saying it is a clone. Just something to consider. Sometimes, the most obvious indicator of a clone is the fit of the parts. Sometimes, clones are produced in the same shops as the authentics. They just didn't pass quality control. Also, sometimes, the B&M retailer may not even realize it.

I don't think your complaints are petty, especially the loose cap. Maybe I'd expect something like that on a cheap FT item, but not from a $90 auth.
Well, hopefully they'll help me out. There may have been a reason it was the displayed item. Oh well . As everyone keeps reminding me, it's my fault.

I totally get what you're saying! Because aside from the cap, it's beautiful. You can see and feel the quality. So I'm hoping for the best! If all else fales, I'll try the dental floss trick...and never pay that much again. Lol. Live and learn!

There may have been a reason it was the displayed item.
This could be the cause of the loose cap as well.Being a display model,it's hard to tell just how many people have pulled the cap,put it back on,then the next pulls it again, etc.,so it could be a simple worn down o-ring.Hopefully they will help you out though.

for $90 and a place you've shopped at regularly I say sure take it back.

If they are any good they'll have a bunch of o rings of different sizes; thicker o rings ought to make the topcap fit.

chipped 'paint' is a worry; an rda should not have regular 'paint'.

I'd never spend that kind of money on an rda, unless it had porcelain insulators (including a couple spares in case of breakage) and maybe 'surgical grade stainless steel'.

They gave me my money back with no questions asked and appologized. I could tell the owner was sincere. I was so relieved. And greatful that they were so good about it.
