I started out with 4 mini 808 batteries and a couple of 1300mah X2 eGo-sized batteries from Smokeless Image.

Quickly moved up to the above white Silver Bullet and black BB, because I wanted longer time between battery changes and to be able to use cartotanks for a larger juice carrying ability. Then got the blue Provari. Just recently added the V V Gripper in the third pic.

I believe that I followed the usual progression of many vapors, starting out on the mini's and X2 eGo-sized batteries, then to the two big battery mods, and finally the variable voltage mods.

Knowing what I know now, I'd likely go straight to the Provari for home use, and the smaller Gripper for out-and-about and stealth vaping at work. Although variable voltage has spoiled me, I'm extremely comfortable with the SB and BB as backups. Three of my mods have the convenience of sharing the same 18650 size battery.

I have over a dozen pyrex cartomizer tanks, each with their own flavor e-juice.

I don't really think there is a right or wrong thing to start out with. So 808's or even ego's didn't cut it for me, we have a lot of people who they do work for and who love them.

Some people like cartos others clearos, some like to drip, others can't stand it. We know what we like or don't like because of having tried different things.

There is a lot out there now, egos, big battery mods, vv, vw, mechanical, bottom feeders, tube mods, box mods, cartos, carto tanks, clearos, clearo tanks such as the vivi nova, rebuildables, genesis, and I am sure the list goes on. There is something for anyone who wants to vape. But we only find what is right for us by trying different things.

I started with Volts and simple cartos. Have tried some ce3s and clearos, but just end up back with my trusted cartos. 808 78mm for out and about, 650 X2s for home. That's really all I need. For me, the big variable is juice...equipment is really not a big deal. I stopped chasing shiny objects after a couple of months. Chasing the perfect juice, that's where the action is.

err tough one because i think what i got starting out a lot of other folks got as well, i got the knowledge of what i liked and what i didn't like and i got the experience needed for RBA's and how to tell what is good from what is crap.

But to answer the question i would have started with an eGo Twist style 1000+ mah and a carto tank for on the go vaping and a simple easy to use VV mod with a good quality atomizer at least then i would have been able to properly use all the little 5ml bottles i bought and sample packs lol
