What's an upgrade to the ego-t?

i'm having HUGE issues with the burning effect with my e-cig... i've had it since 06/06/11..i have a few more aty's coming before i attempt to dismantle one of them.. but as of right now this horrid taste is killing me... i cannot enjoy my e-juices! i'm just vaping to keep myself from going back to analogs.. lately i've been hearing horror stories of the tank system due to the wick..

i'm just preparing myself for another option if i end up getting fed up with the ego-t.

any leads are appreciated.. i'm based in FL / USA if there are any close vendors.

What mix pg/vg are you using? I thought I've read that more than 30% vg will cause issues with the wick.

Try dripping some ejuice on the wick itself before putting the tank on?

If the tank's not working for you, just go with a regular atty and cart/ drip. Then there's carto's. I've got the smoke tech dc carto's. They do alright. Not really my first choice though. But I'd put these carto's over the tank system. (That's my opinion, I just didn't find the tank worked well enough to my liking).

My assumption then is that the juice is just too think to get down the wick onto the coil.

Unfortunately, I don't have a solution for you. Sorry I can't be of much more help.

I use 100%VG in my egoT. I'll admit, I need more time for it to wick and I'll get maybe 8 draws on it before it goes "dry" and tastes of charcoal but it "works".

Somewhere... there's a video of someone pushing the wick down or making a hole in the wick so it feeds better with VG. I haven't done it so I can't comment and can't remember who it was.

An option for you is to just get normal Ego carts and atties. I still use my 510s on my ego because they're really nice to drip with. I use the tank carts and atties outside and drip with the 510 when I'm at home.

Oh man, one day I'll remember about cartos! I hear boge cartomisers are pretty decent and fit the ego. Cartos may be the way for you and there's a few out there that could fit your ego, even if you need a thread conversion piece. I'm really not the guy to ask about cartos but it's another option for you.

I hear some people also use cartos with high VG content with no problem other than they gum up a little faster than with PG or higher PG mix.

The egoT is good but I know what you mean. I always carry two on me. Because it takes longer for it to drink up the VG, when I hit the "dry" point on one I'll use the other. I found that keeping the tank cart pretty full as much as possible helps the pressure on the wick and keeps it feeding better. It's a tough life as a VG vaper!

YEP I run through the exact routine as you do. At first I thought my taste buds were failing on me lol.

Until I had a friend take a vapor. Quick response, "EW tastes like burnt metal"

So yep, it wasn't me

Hopefully I can resolve the wick issue once my back ups arrive. As a few other people mentioned, it could be the thickness of the juices that are coating the wick. /shrugs

Wait, did you mean upgrade as in modding the EgoT? In that case YouTube - ‪eGo-t wick adjustment‬‏ is the video I thought of about moving the wick. I haven't done it yet. I've also heard if you take a really thin needle and make a hole in there it'll feed better.

If you do it and it works, let me know right? lol

lol will do. i bookmarked this page.. when i meant as upgrade.. i meant if theres any other e-cig better that has a lesser hassle with the wick.. but at the same time compatible with the battery / charger.. b.c that would be a waste

but i will mess with the wick.. since i really have nothing to lose.
