I bought a protank 2 a couple of weeks ago...well it worked great at first but after a few days its started leaking out of the bottom coil into my battery....I'd clean it up, completely disassembling it and putting it back together, it worked for a few hours then the same situation occurred. I even googled and watched youtube videos on this issue and none of the recommendations remedied this issue. Thinking maybe I got a bad egg I purchased another one on friday (when it works it works great!.) Well low and behold the same problems started happening; except the new one also accumulates liquid underneath the drip tip! Im fed up with this crap and dont want to give kangertech any more of my money, so I'm asking some more seasoned folks for a recommendation on what would work better tank wise, its been very frustrating! Thanks ya'll!

are you sure you're giving your money to kangar?
lots of copies out there....... check the bottom of the chrome..... tiny small letter that say kangar and what model and version.......

I have two protank 2's...... both work perfect.......... had them both for months.......keep juicy in one, tabaccy in the other
just sayin...

That is strange. These tanks can be finicky at times, I'm sure we've all found out that out a time or two in our vaping history!

Ah it just hit me. Filling the mini's can be a challenge and I have found at times a drop or two goes down the tube and not into the tank. Before I seal mine up I run a swab down the tube to cleanup any fluid that got where it shouldn't have. Found the cheap swabs with less cotton work the best.

That's actually a great idea! I use a syringe when filling my tanks just to make sure nothing sneaks it's way down the tube these days, but again, I like the swab idea! (Storing in mental bank)

I'm sure someone has suggested this already, but getting an elego, or an eleaf are really good tanks to use. They don't have much in the way of issues, and are really quite good for smoke production and taste. I currently use the BCC Mega, which holds 3.5 ml of liquid, so you can do quite a while without needing to refill, and since the coils are on the bottom, you don't suffer from dry hits unless using the wrong ohms. It's really quite worth the purchase. Hope this helps

Kanger BCC tanks are very nice. Don't give up on them yet. I have the ProTanks 1, 2, Aero and the mini 2. And other Kangers--T3s, eVod, T2--never had a leak. I swear... And like others have suggested, get that little Aerotank airflow control gizmo--it will make your life with your PT 2 easier. I hear that the new Aerotanks Mega and Mini are even better--Phil Busardo thinks that they taste better than the Aspires, which I happen to like also, BTW.

In the meantime, check this list--maybe you'll find a solution to your problem there. Good luck!

Kanger Troubleshooting 101:

If your clearo is flooding, the connections are not tight enough--or too tight. Keep reading.

If you're using clearos and getting a burnt taste it means that not enough juice is getting to the coil and you're basically vaping dry, hot air or inhaling smoke from the gunk that's burning off of your coil. Not a good thing. Another case of bad taste maybe the tank itself--some arrive covered with some kind of nasty grease; wash them with soap and water (just the tanks--soak the coils in PGA or vodka).

There are a few things you need to remember when using a T3 or an eVod or a ProTank--in addition to keeping your coils clean and free of gunk that accumulates on them.

1) Make sure that the atomizer coil is screwed into the base tightly--every time you refill; they often come not fully tightened from the manufacturer, or may have gotten loose through repeated refills.

2) Look at all the inner seals and gaskets to make sure they haven't become dislodged.

3) Make sure that you screw the tank into its base tightly. If it's not tight, it will leak.

4) When you screw your clearomizer into your battery, do not overtighten--screw it in only until it makes contact--no farther, or you may push the center post in too deep and cause all kinds of problems, including leaking. When the draw becomes tight or the taste and vapor production begin to diminish, replace the coil. This will happen sooner (even as soon as one day of heavy use) if you're using dark, viscous, or very sweet juices. The old coil can be cleaned and dry burned.

5) Make sure you're not getting any juice in the center tube when you're filling--this will cause your eVod to leak like a sieve. If some juice gets into the tube, close the top cap, place a tissue under your tank and blow gently through the clearomizer to get rid of any excess eliquid. Also, extra condensation inside the tank may, on some occasions, drip back into the center tube. Wipe your mouthpiece dry with a q-tip or a tissue when you refill (or more often when/if needed).

6) Take an occasional "primer puff" (a slow draw without activating the battery) when you vape. It helps move the juice into the coil chamber and removes any air bubbles that sometimes form in the tank and may cause gurgling or impede proper wicking.

7) Take slow long draws rather than sharp and quick ones like we used to do while smoking cigarettes. Do not over vape, chain vape, power vape. Let the juice travel to the coil between drags.

and last but not least

8) Do not remove any flavor wicks if you're experiencing any leaking or flooding. Those wicks are there for a reason. If you feel that you have to remove a wick because your eliquid is particularly thick, do it carefully--one strand at a time. If your liquid is super thin, you can thicken it with a bit of VG (USP--pharma grade) or you can add another strand of cotton to your flavor wick. Don't add too much or you'll choke your atomizer and get a dry hit.

Also, make sure you're vaping at correct wattages; I like 5.5-7 watts.

Good luck!

An easier question to answer is what isn't better than a PT.

Depends. We are all different. I don't like top coils, so I think that CE4s, Vivi Novas and iClears are worse than Kanger clearos. Other people love top coils. :)

I can also taste the polyfill in cartomizers, so I retired all my carto tanks. Others love cartos.

Live and let live. ;)

I have had issues with the kanger tanks until I finally purchased an aerotank for my wife, the PT, PT2 and PT3 all leaked, granted they are going to because they are bottom coil through the bottom asperated attys, but after moving on to RDA's (nimbus dualie and a yeahsmo 3D) and Gennys (UD AGA TD and an RSST) I figured there had to be a tank Atty for her that wouldnt leak out of the bottom. I was about to give up on Kanger all together when a friend in a B&M showed me the Areo, and asked me to give it a shot. So far, no leaks, gurgles or hot spits, and Momma is a happy girl with it sitting on top of her Vamo V5.

this. i'm hearing good things about the nautilus but outside of that and after going the TCC/BCC/BDC route, they are garbage and vastly inferior in every way. but if your PT or CEx works, more power to ya.

take the time to explore cartotanks.. and/or drippers.
