It's been obvious for a long time that government skepticism of e-cigarettes is tied to the revenue from the Master
tobacco Settlement. Anything that reduces smoking reduces income to the states who receive annual payments based on cigarette company revenue. If enough people quit smoking the states will never receive the annual tobacco company funding that they've already borrowed against. Ecigs negatively affect the bottom line numbers of cigarette company payments to states.
It's no surprise that states, especially those who receive larger payouts are against
vaping. That pressures Congress when it comes to voting down FDA regs. Of course, they have to explain it to their constituents in a way that gets them re-elected.
