So one of my grands was getting sparky again and I'm getting kinda sick of the file/nolax routine so decided to change it up a bit. I have some conductive corrosion inhibitor copper flake grease called Kopr Shield that I use on just about everything except zinc... Though it's probably fine there too with the amount of corrosion inhibitors in it. The stuff clings to metal like crazy, way better than nolax plus it's super conductive, so that's nice too. I've used it on steel a lot in the past, mostly when I redo vehicle grounds.
Anyway, I applied some to the tip of my firing pin and no more sparking and it's vaping better than it ever has. Thinking about applying it to my other grand but just wanted to see if anyone here has any input... Wouldn't want to have to buy two rebuild kits
So my question is, what's the firing pin made of? Stainless would be fine, bare steel too, but galvanized... A bit sketchy. Also, anyone know what the material on the button top of the aw imr is?
Thanks
