Do you get a better vape with a higher or lower resistance?

Depends on the device you are using.
With a basic Ego type Battery lower, 1.8-2.2ohm is better/ warmer

With an adjustable power device it really doesn't matter that much as you can compensate for coil resistance.

Cant really judge an atty by its resistance, higher resistance can either mean longer wire(good) or thinner wire(bad). I'm convinced though that the more metal there is around a wick, the lower peak heat you need for your desired amount of vapor and the less heat you need the better the flavor and finer the vapor.

It depends on the battery capability. When I used batteries that were not vv all I wanted was a 1.8ohm coil. As you get bigger and better batteries with more power you can use higher ohms. I tend to like a warmer vape so I like top coils with lower resistance. Others will use higher resistance to get a cool vape.

With a VV or VW device IMO it really doesn't matter as long as you can get the vape you want. For example, if you're using a 3 ohm carto or clearo on a Twist or Spinner which put out 3.3 to 4.8 volts you might not be happy at 4.8 V as that's only 7.7 watts but you can't go any higher. Watts indicate the amount of power, or heat, you are applying to the coil. At 3.3 V it's 3.6 watts which too low. A 1.5 ohm coil will create 15.4 watts at 4.8 V which is too high most of the time. 3.3 volts on that carto is 7.3 watts which may not be low enough. Other than that, it's a wash in my experience.

With RBA's and RDA's, there are a lot of variables that are controllable that affect your vape too and it becomes a much more involved discussion.
