hi folks,

im very new to e-cig scene, and im wondering whats the difference between the xhaler and chuck. Forgive my ignorance but from what I read, the diff is the chuck uses higher capacitance batteries: 18650 2500mAh, vs the xhaler's 2x750mAh CR123A batteries.

the xhaler also has some knob that can vary the voltage a little

apart from these two variables, are there any other differences? thanks!

I have a chuck on order and do not own an xhaler so feel free to toake my comments with a grain of salt.

What drew me to a chuck was everything I read of the top notch craftsmanship. I want a device that looks good, but most importantly, that will last. I dont mind replacing batts or attys, but I want the platform to hold up over the long haul, and it just seems to me, in this area, the Chuck is unsurpassed.

I would love to try both! Thanks for your input. I share your same philosophy. I need something that will endure heavy usage. I hated the idea of buying dozens of batteries and atomizers. At least now, I eliminate one factor: the batts. Perhaps someone can come up with an idea that tackles the need for so many attys :)

Still looking for more input on the differences between these two products, both of which have raving reviews by various members!

I have not used and Xhaler, so I cannot comment specifically on the device's performance, but if you do a search you will find tons of information about whether or not the voltage claims are accurate or not.

Assuming it only does 3.7 or 6v like a Chuck, the differences are:

Xhaler is available for immediate delivery. The Chuck is custom made individually, and so there is a wait to receive one, Ordering without graphics speeds the time up, of course, but since graphics are free why not go for it?

Both can use whatever atomizer you want.

I don't know about Xhaler battery life specifically, but the Big Chuck can get 3+ days of vaping @ 3.7v with the 18650 battery, the Little Chuck 17 hours (verified by myself) from an 18350. If you go 6v I think over a day is average.

Xhaler has the button on the bottom, operated by your pinkie. The Chuck has the button at the top, operated by thumb or index finger.

Other differences between the Chuck and the Xhaler:

Chuck body is copper, Xhaler is aluminum.

Chuck is heavier in weight - in my opinion, it seems more 'solid', but I can see other people seeing the the lighter weight of the Xhaler as an advantage.

Placement of button - Chuck: near the 'top' - atomizer end; Xhaler - near the bottom

Purely my opinion - the Chuck has a better 'finish'. The painted finish on my Xhaler has some little bubbles in it and the paint has begun to flake off one of those 'bumps'. OTOH I have a Little Chuck that has several decals in the design and there are places where the decals are beginning to wear off - but I know that I can have Jeff repair them under warranty.

(I haven't asked him about it yet because the thought of being without my favorite Chuck for even a few days is still unthinkable to me, despite the fact that I have two other beautiful Chucks - after all, I can't see the decals when I have it wrapped in my hand while vaping on it, and when I open my hand and look at it, I know what the decals are SUPPOSED to look like even if they currently have some spots where the white powdercoat background is showing through.)

Oh - the Big Chuck and the Xhaler can both run at 3.7v and at 6 v (or 5/6v for the Xhaler).

For the higher 6 v, both the Big Chuck and the Xhaler use the same batteries - 2 3v RCR123a's. For the 3.7 v, the Xhaler uses a 16340 battery plus a CR123a "spacer", the Big Chuck uses a 18650 battery, which has a higher mAh rating - a 16340 will last as much as 1 day, but a 18650 will last at LEAST two days, even for a heavy vaper like me.

awesome reply jeannie. Just a few clarifications:
- will 6v burn out my atty's faster?
- will 3.7v cause me to have less vapor and flavor compared to 6v?
- chuck and xhaler can use 2xrcr123a. so its logical to say the batt compartments are the same size.
therefore, cant the xhaler use the 18650 batt?

thanks!

I cant answer all of this, but in my experience with my chuck, the 6v actually makes less flavor, but is way harsher and hotter. I can see how it would naturally make attys wear out faster.

OK, the Xhaler is a completely different type of device than the Chucks....different button, placement and feel. Also the biggest battery it takes is 1800mAH, the Big Chuck holds 18650 batts that are 3000mAh, mAh are milliwatt hours...the more mAh, the longer the batts last. :)

The chuck works at either 3.7v or 6v...also takes 18350 batts for 3.7v (lil Chuck) and they have 1200mAh....thats more batt power packed in than alot of other devices, most devices are tryoing for smaller-which means less batt power (time it lasts)....

I dont have an Xhaler so I can only say the facts i listed, cant compare personally. I know HellenAhandbasket has both also Youtubecommercial so for accurate comparison may wanna ask one of them :)

Yeah, my first one didn't, but Jeff said you can send them back to get a clear coat at no charge.
So I did, and I highly recommend doing so.

I would do this with my OSU chuck if I could stand to part with it that long.:p
I just replaced the decal yesterday. It held up well for almost three months and it NEVER showed any sign of pealing off, which surprised me. I was sure I would catch a corner at some point and start the pealing process. They are very durable decals.

The odd thing was that the only color that wore down was the black. The gray and red still looked brand new, but the black ink eventually started to match the gray.

I guess (maybe) when my juicebox gets here, I will see if Jeff will clearcoat over my decals. Still not sure if I want to let my Chuck out of my site that long though. It's like an appendage at this point:p
