What's the first color that comes to mind

What is the first COLOR that comes to mind when you think about QUITTING smoking? This is for a project I'm
Doing related to e-cigs. I thought of GREY. What about you? I need some feedback.

Also, if possible, explain why the color you picked comes to mind. Why do you associate that particular color with quitting smoking?

Everyone who said red- why red? Is it because of the embers? Or maybe because the "NO SMOKING" sign is red?

I really didn't think of anything other than the original question. That was just the first color I saw when I thought of quitting. I'm sure the color red has some meaning. If I had to answer what the color probably means to me, I would have to say "STOP". Maybe because I have been avoiding quitting for so long because of the previous failed attempts??? Who knows...

Red for the anxiety from quitting, Grey for it being a confusing and dark time, and green for the freedom and hope of completing it.

I don't get it. I mean, why would I associate ANY color with quitting cigarettes? I don't mean to be smart, I just don't understand.

In any case, I don't have that association going. My favorite color is a rich blue though.

NCC: this is for a project. It's not just a random question really. I can't really simplify the question any more than it already is. I'm so terrible at explaining things lol. This is one of those situations where it would be beneficial to be in a room full of people with Synesthesia like me. Haahah.

Maybe to be different, I dunno, I understood it to be the color associated with QUITTING smoking. And I say-black. I'm not talking about when someone takes up vaping. I'm talking about "divorcing" the "best friend" that I've had 24/7/365 days a year for the past 37 years.

Red, the packs my Pall Malls came in were red, and that's what I've smoked the past few years. Before that I smoked Marlboro for years and that pack was red also.
