I searched and found a number of older threads (years old) that discussed this, but they felt a little outdated - no one really mentioned steeping or some other fundamental concepts I've learned like stored in a cool, dark place. So I question that info as being current.

I'm curious what latest thoughts on liquid going bad over time are. Does anyone think there is a reasonable time period you should use your juice? Is dark and cool still the best environment? Are there any steadfast signs that it has or is going bad (aside from taste, that one is obvious)?

Thoughts?

I found a 14 month old bottle of pre-mix that I used to really like but forgot about. Tastes good as new and still looks like the same clarity as the day I bought it. It was stored in a glass dropper bottle in a dark box for last 12 months or so.

OTOH, I've had some juices go from mostly clear to almost motor oil in 4-6 months. Usually sweeter ones. Have no idea if they are ok to vape because I didn't want to test it.

The easy answer is just to test out an old bottle. If it tastes good then it's fine. There's nothing that can really "spoil" in juice for the most part. PG/VG don't "grow stuff" too easily if at all. Nic will lose strength over time through oxidization but that doesn't spoil a juice.
