Hey ECFriends, I'm a do-it-yourself kinda guy, and I find myself altering my vape equipment all the time, and it almost always turns out great. Just now, I turned the excellent Grand Vapor RBA into an even better rda. It was performing pretty excellent for an RBA, but I guess RBA's aren't my thing as I always find myself coming back to dripping. What I did was grabbed the appropriate sized metal plugs from work (lowes), and simply plugged the wick holes leading to the juice tank below.

When the prometheus would actually be moist with juice, I've found that it's a vape that competes with the best of RDA's, better than many of my "high-end" RDA's actually. The only two that are better in my aresenal is the brass monkee, and the dominator, and that's saying something! The prometheus has super thick walls, a medium/small chamber, and massive dual 1/8th" airholes, combine those and you get a hellacious vape. With this jimmy rig it looks legitimate too
, the usual wick holes (which I'd drilled out previously), are now shiny chrome plugs that look like they were meant to be there, I'm really proud of this simple jimmy rig. Plus I think the prometheus looks cool anyway
, it's huge, well crafted, and looks pretty advanced like most RBA's. The cool thing about this now, is I can fill up the tank as an "emergency reservoir" and just pop out the plugs if I'm stranded on an island or something, or even want to change flavors at work, but don't want to carry two bottles.
I've ALWAYS ended up drilling unsatisfactory vapes, I've built my own coils in my Aspire Nautilus and ET-S and they now perform almost just as well as any decent RDA (especially the Nautilus), that truly surprised me! Just a little bit of airflow widening, and an addition of cotton wicking and nano-coils, boom an epic tank that can fit in my pocket. I dremel'd an extra slot on my brass monkey AFC cap (which normally only has dual airflow) to give it an option of single 1/8th" airflow, and it aesthetically hides behind the AFC ring, it looks great, and gave that basically perfect RDA the option to be single coil. All of my mods have smooth magnetic firing switches (well I just bought the right size neodynium magnets, and installed them), I've made a custom alloy of 99%copper and 1%silver mod tube for my (ugly) patina'd brass stingray firing switches (they're my favorite switches, and I wanted a super low volt drop to go with them, along with getting rid of the brass), threaded them to .5mm threading on both ends with the pipe threading machine at work, and bam a 101% conductivity mechanical, with my favorite magnetic (and nearly touch sensitive) switch. The list goes on, and it's made me a happier vaper.
~I'd really like to know how you ladies and gentlemen have jimmy-rigged your vaping equipment to make them work better for you, maybe I can learn something! (Has anyone ever added a "flavor ring" to their RDA/RBA before? It's just a circular disc that makes the chamber smaller.)
*Thanks in advance for your replies guys!*
