Yea! Getting a break tomorrow as mom's getting a visit from my sis. Her husband needs something at HD so he's driving her town and dropping her off while he goes shopping. It will give me a chance to work on the trailer I bought. I purchased some anchor's to put in it that will require some routing and bolting in. I also bought a motorcycle wheel chock which will enable me to load it up with two forward anchors and transport them. I figured one of these days I'd need to move a broken down one or to trailer one somewhere and now that I have a trailer I might as well make it easy.

I also picked up a used Trac Vac after seeing how much my mom has been spending on lawn mowing and leaf removal. I'm just hoping I can get a chute that will fit my lawn mower or I'll have a very expensive, useless piece of equipment.

Better get to bed, almost 3AM

Roth, I hope you find the right chute. I take it the Trac Vac is a pull behind? My grandpa used a lawn sweeper. It worked pretty well.

The pain is still there once in a while, but overall much better.

Axl, that's good news about you're back pain. Just remember, it's sometimes easier to ask forgiveness than permission.... LOL And Keurigs are pretty easy to use. Just add water, unless it's hooked up to a water line, and plug and play. I considered one at one time, but I love my moka pot too much.

Just waking up with Pixie. Sherry is at work.

I have a very large percolator and fill a carafe for all day consumption, but the Keurig is simple, fast, and easy for that first cup or 3. We have a couple of inserts that let you use your own coffee in it, too. Hubby likes the regular coffee, but I need the hi test.

Spending a lot of time working with the puppy. She's a lot of fun, and I think she'll work out fine.

Off to the barn to feed the bigger critters.

FC, can you come over to train mine too? We have been keeping a pen around her crate but today she figured out how to get out of the pen. I'm going to return it to the pet store and start locking the crate tonight. I probably won't get much sleep.

I use the pen to keep her out from under the end-table. She likes wires.

I got about 4 hrs sleep at a time the first couple of weeks. We use the crate at night, get her to go in with a small treat, and lock the door. She whined the first couple of nights, but now she heads for it when I start turning lights off and goes in without being asked. She is up to 5 hours without whining or needing to go out at night. We're down to about one accident during the day. Usually when we notice her looking for a spot to go too late to take her out. She's riding in the car about 45 minutes a day, and learning how to handle the steps down to the dog yard. She still steals slippers and socks, and when she gets wound up it takes a little bit to calm her down. It will be several months before they are reliable and do what you expect them to most of time. Repetition is your best friend. The more consistent all of you are with what you want from her, the easier it is. Hubby and I are still working on that.

It's a LONG road, hitt. But you'll get what you put in in spades when she's older.

Speaking of dogs, I haven't seen gutter's profile pop up here in a while. Anyone heard from him?

It's a memory foam matress. I considered a sleep number bed, but have heard no actual good reviews from real people. I think I should just buy a cheap bed and replace it every few years. I would actually come out ahead that way, instead of buying expensive beds and living at the chiropractor's.

    I need a new hobby.

I also need time for a new hobby.

Roth, how is your mom doing? When and how did you first realize she had dementia?

FC, last night was our first night locking her in the crate. I'm not sure how late my wife stayed up(probably pretty late) but when I got up this morning the puppy wasn't whining or anything and she did her business outside. We haven't had an accident for a couple days now. My wife has gotten in a routine before we got the puppy of staying up late. However, now she has to get up early to take both kids to school at different times so I think the sleep thing is catching up with her.

Axl, I can sleep on just about any mattress without a problem but my wife is very sensitive since she's got fibro. We bought a new one a few years ago and had to have it replaced because it was getting a big dent in it. That was under warranty. When it happened the second time they gave us credit towards a more expensive, supposedly better one. I can't tell the difference. I've talked to several people that like the memory foam. Maybe they are too ashamed to say anything since they paid so much for it.

Hit, it's a pull behind lawn vacuum and Skry, the only reason I went for a used TVac was the compression. I did her lawn a few years ago with a walk behind with the same function. It was constant stopping and emptying bags. I'm hoping either to bag a couple times and be done with it or run the leaves to my house and dump them in my woods.

FC appears to be in puppy heaven. Hitt, it's still early. FC, I forgot about the wire warning, Hitt watch your wires! That was one of Jack's favorites. He particularly like vacuum cleaner cord. I think after two mishaps the cord was like 8 foot long and I needed an extension cord to vacuum. Good advice from FC Hitt, you can tell she's been around for awhile.

I've had amazing luck with my dogs as far as accidents. Each of the goldens and Jack each only had one each and all involved ......... Ist night for the first golden but he was being sold by the auctioneer and kids were feeding the pups all day long. T and Jack were both in their cages during the day. I just wish Jack had a bigger bladder. That dog can have to go out three times a night and knows how to insist it's time, particullarly in the middle of the night.

Axl, she's doing fine for someone heading to 94. She should be happy today since my sister visited her yesterday, if she remembers she was there. I guess it started getting noticeable around 85, but I didn't notice it as much as my sister since she would spend hours with her on a Saturday. I'd say it was about 3 years ago that we wanted her to stop driving, but she finally admitted it last year. Unfortunately the last six months really seem to be accelerating. She realizes she can't remember anything and it bothers her. Enough on that.

Ah yes, dogs and vacuum cleaners. lol. Mine has a nice big bite mark on it from the older dog. She's convinced that whatever that beast is, it MUST be killed. We have to send her to the kitchen to clean the carpets. Got a new gate in today for the spare crate. It will be easier to keep a crate in the living room than dragging one from the bedroom to the living room when I need one.

Congrats on the new toys, roth! Sounds like you will be tooling around in style.

Hitt, you're right about that. I just wish she'd get her wish which she was very clear about today. She was so upset with my sister for something she said. I called her up to check what it might have been, but she had no clue. Mom thought she said she was "acting" about her condition. My sister had no idea what she was talking about. I tried to get her to understand that she wouldn't have meant anything by it and mom seemed to get off the thought.

FC, that pup is getting big! Nice to see how they change over the months.

Kids love tents. We used to set up a small tent in the living room for the kids.

For some reason the puppy likes to jump and nip at my youngest daughter especially when she first gets up. I read that you should turn around and ignore them and if that doesn't work then to isolate the puppy for a little bit. Any advice?
