I've decided a bike and a lawn vac need to go. My first 400cc scooter isn't getting ridden as I have 2 bikes to ride in the winter and 4 in the summer. The lawn vac was bought for my mom because she had planted quite a few trees in the 62 years she lived there and they all became monsters. They had some cut down but it was still a nightmare in the fall. She was paying a lawn service $1200 at leaf time in increments from the first fall into February. Unfortunately, after the effort to buy it, only a couple hundred was saved since she only spend one more year in the house. Tried to sell it at the yard sale but even taking a $250 loss there were no takers so it ended up taking up my storage space. Craigslist this spring.

We got your storm this morning Hitt with 4-5" on the ground and a couple on the hard surfaces. Talk about wet. My front deck had the full depth and it was nearly impossible to push the first 10' off the side. After that it went okay as I didn't need to take full shovels full. The one thing I was glad I did was build the rails higher from the deck than regulation required. No lifting snow off the deck, just push it off. There are no kids here to crawl under the rails and fall to their death and to sell, you just screw horizontals to decrease the gap.

Anyway, I was excited to get a test "drive" with the new thrower, particularly for the mess the snow left. Two passes down and up the 100 yard drive and it was done, all throwing the snow the direction I wanted to send it without avoiding sending it into my wood shed. I also caught a setup error I didn't catch when I set up the machine. The cable controlling the blades was caught on the wrong side of the rod that controlled the head on the chute so the blades never stopped moving. I had to loosen the handles and drop the control panel to get the cable routed properly so it was good to be able to fix it in decent weather than find the problem next winter.

Hand warmers checked and working (way too hot for the temperature today) and the controls that make the thrower move right or left without muscling it were greatly appreciated. Bring on Winter 2018/19!

We are almost in full time summer down here, temps getting into the upper 80's already, I guess we are not having a spring this year. :(

Wish some of them fronts would make it a LITTLE down here, but they all just die before they get here. Time for Hot I guess.

Burnie, as nice as the weather looks down there during the winter months, I wouldn't like temps near 90 in April. If I were ever to move it would be western N Carolina, Georgia or Tennessee. Not so cold in winter but not so hot in the summer. As it is and with a brand new snow thrower and a handicap lift being installed sometime in the next few weeks, I think I'm planning for life in PA to the end.

I know what you mean. We have a LOT of snowbirds come down here to get away from the cold, then in March & April they head back north to get away from the heat. It's not something even us natives get used to, you just don't get out in it if it can be avoided. I work mostly outside, so in the summer I start at daybreak, around 6:30am, and work until 11:30ish, then it is inside work or paperwork at the office, but in the AC somewhere.

It's hard to get away from where I am now. Burning wood, most of which is obtained free, I'm getting away with one oil tank a year to supply heat and hot water. During the summer, living among the trees, I might have 7 days a summer that I hit the AC. I actually get at least a 5 degree difference coming home when I hit the woods.

Well today sucked, had to cancel my main CC, fraudulent charges. :(
Took 45 minutes on the phone, their automated answer machine sucks to get a real person. :(
Now to wait for a new card and change all the auto payments, really sucks. :(
All for 2 charges, $40 & $105, so at least it is not in the thousands like last time.
I need another beer :toast:

I'm not going to say how long ago that happened because I'm not close enough to wood to knock on it. However, that happened three or four times to me over a space of 2 or 3 years. I was going thru all those auto pays each time. I think it was the second time I set up a spreadsheet with all the phone numbers for auto pays and accounts like Amazon I had to go to to correct. It still sucks but not as bad as those first times.I think one was during the HD issue.

It's awful tempting at that price to stock up, but with shipping what it is, it's not quite as tempting.
I'm really stocked now, won't really NEED to order anything until 2019. Now if someone ran a sale of General Mint "AND" N&J Americana, then I would have to find room in the freezer for more. :)

It seems so funny to say that, particularly for me who was going thru 2 1/2 packs or around $20 a day smoking using today's prices. I think back to running to Delaware every couple weeks to get my supply since the cost was considerably less and I had a friend that went and bought cartons for himself and others. When I place a big order to Sweden, it's less than I was spending every two. Plus I feel so much better despite getting older by the day. lol

    Somewhere between here and there
I was never that heavy of a smoker but did get up to 1 1/2 packs at the end. They are about $50 a carton here right now so yes I'm getting by much cheaper with snus and vape. I make all my own liquids for pennies.

10 rolls I can see without digging

I don't think I've ever had ten rolls on hand. Probably the most is six at once.
Well I just checked the inventory I have on my phone, I have 113 unopened cans in the freezer, and that does not include all the ones I ordered to sample that are open (something around 30 partial cans). I generally use 7 portions a day (sometimes 8, but rarely) so around 2 cans a week, so I have over 56 weeks of inventory. Like I said earlier, I won't NEED to order this year (unless there is a really great sale)
