Ok, I hit a few sites yesterday and plunked a few items in their shopping carts to see if there was a big difference in shipping rates.

Just received this email from SnusCENTRAL.

Greetings **********, from me, Moe Unz!

I noticed you did not complete your recent order. I hope you did not lose your wallet! You should know we do accept PayPal now!

I hope you were not hacked by anti-tobacco extremists!!!

Whatever the reason, worry not! I, Moe Unz, personally saved your shopping cart. It is lonely and waiting for your return.

Best Regards from Sweden,

MOE UNZ

They always do that if you leave something in your cart. Snuscentral is my favorite vendor but I've bought from buysnus before and they were good. There's probably one or two others I've bought from but don't remember their names. Some vendors used to run free shipping if you spent over a certain amount but I haven't seen that happen in at least 2-3 years.

When they can make me laugh with a canned cart email, I'm going to do business with 'em.

Good company to deal with. Most of my orders are with them, they seem to have the best selection and over all pricing, and their shipping is also a little less. And if there is a problem with the order they take care of it promptly (only had that happen once on my last order, but they fixed it and then some).

Looks like we may be getting lucky. It didn't start at 4 like they predicted, temps stayed above freezing. Now we're supposed to get some 10PM snow showers followed by snow the third hour, then freezing rain for two and rising temps turning the ice into rain for 4 hrs. Net result if that happens, it should just be wet conditions by the time we wake up, hopefully.

It looks like FC is getting it/going to get it bad.

It looked like it might be bad tonight as the temps moved into the 40s today but well below freezing tonight. My drive was very wet late afternoon but it was real windy which must have dried it out a lot. I just had the dogs out and it's cold but the drive is mostly dry. Now Thursday might be a different story. I haven't seen what the snow is supposed to be like other than we're expecting snow.

I'm glad we haven't had your cold temps, the snow has been enough. It's nice and sunny today but in the 20s. However, I'll be clearing out snow tomorrow.

It was snowing again when I left for work this morning. The roads were covered enough that you couldn't see the lane marks. We are up near 20 now and headed for the 30's by the weekend.

I had been wanting a laptop for a while and finally ordered one last week from Office Depot. I kept getting emails that it was processing and would get a tracking number soon but still hadn't after six days or so. I finally called them and found out that it was backordered and they weren't going to be able to get any more so I was going to have to pick something else. I found another one and it's supposed to be here by Monday. I'm not super confident at this point.

New laptops are always fun to get. My new Dell is amazing and having the keys where they're supposed to be is definitely a benefit. I got a 17" that's basically the same size as the 15" I had before and the colors are amazing. Plus the sound is also a big improvement. I paid way more for it than I ever spent on any computer and that dates back to when they were really expensive in the 80s but I thought it was time to splurge while I was still around.

Every time someone like Rush passes, reality sets in. My father's health issues started in his 70s and he was gone at 77. Mortality at this age is so real as you've seen so many of your friends and acquaintances disappear.

Your laptop sounds nice. I got mine on sale for 450. It’s an i5 with 8gb ram and 512 ssd. It should be fine for my use. It’s a 15”.

Don’t start talking crazy Roth. You aren’t going anywhere. We won’t let you. My father in law is 86 and doing great. He still drives around everywhere and has more energy than some young people I know.

A lot of it has to do with how active you are I think. Some of the guys I worked with at the foundry that retired a decade ago are still traveling and blowing their pensions at the casinos. Where as others went home and drank beer and watched TV and passed within weeks of retiring.

You're more active than most people I know my age Roth, so I wouldn't start worrying just yet.

We got 10 inches of snow in my neck of the woods. Enough country wide that GM shut down all but 1 assembly plant, one guess as to which one stayed open. I wasn't feeling it Tuesday, so I stayed home.

We got 3 to 4 foot drifts in my backyard and my puppy loves snow, so we set him loose back there. Being 5 months old now, the snow is much taller than him, and it looks like a scene from the Tremors movies as he darts around kicking up snow. If only it was a touch warmer so we could let him play for more than 10 or 15 minutes.

We haven't gotten a lot of snow at once. It's been an inch or two at a time but on several different days. I let two snows build up then got the snowblower out once the temps got above zero. We got a little more after that but I'm not going to worry about clearing the driveway. My wife has all wheel drive and I have four wheel so there's no issue getting in and out of the garage and driveway. It's supposed to get up in the 30's by the weekend so it will melt.
