I'm getting these willy extreme cravings for "something" I can't put my finger on it. I think I need some smokeless tobacco, but can't stand the thought of spitting' and getting those pit of the stomach growls that feel like puking. Could somebody enlighten me?
Snus is nothing like American style dip or chew. No spitting necessary. I've never gotten an upset stomach from snus. In fact I don't know of anyone who has. It's one of the best, if not the best way to kill the "something missing" feeling.

Darn it Hitt, you keep bringing up snuff so much that I had a few cans in a cart at Togue two days ago and then thought better of it and held off. Now you have me thinking again. I need another habit like I need......another habit. I still am not sure I want to sniff something other than air now that I can breath again. However, if you keep talking......

PGVG, welcome to this side of the tracks. Give snus a dry. The only side effect I've noticed was occasional niccups if I had too high a nic level portion at the wrong hour of the day. They go away fairly easily. Got rid of that feeling for me almost immediately. Perhaps a smoke shop somewhere near you carries General snus where you could get a feel for it. The difficulty today is that it gets expensive to place small orders online with the PACT act. If you find it works then you could consider larger orders which reduce delivery charges per can. Good luck

Roth, I was the same way before I tried snuff. I wasn't sure about using it and was pretty green at using snus. I would advise buying the small tins if you do decide to try it. I know a 10g tin looks tiny but it really does last a long time since you use so little at a time.

Hello all... I've been a smoker and a dipper, glad they are both behind me. However, I created a blend of e-liquid using Copenhagen pouches that only cost $12 and has really helped hit the nic craving spot. If anyone is interested in checking out how, look at my post under New Members Forum:

Making your own nicotine e-liquid with Copenhagen pouches

Let me know what you think, all feedback is greatly appreciated.

I will make an effort to go look at that thread. Myself and a few others here have used WTA liquid and can attest to how much it is like a cigarette. I think even if it were readily available that I would still use snus. Thank you for telling us about it. If it gets very technical then I don't know how much I will be able to follow it. I don't know if you ever read the " are we getting it" thread but I remember people like Tropical Bob soaking snus in a cart and vaping it. There is a lot of good info in that thread if you ever have some time on your hands.

That's awesome man - if i'd have known there were other musician types around we could have been derailing this thread with gear talk :).I build and repair tube amps and effects pedals every day and have built up quite the little collection of vintage equipment over the years.
anyway - at the moment i'm enjoying some post run ( right at 3 miles again tonight) H20 and hot cocoa with a grov portion.
I've not found too many portions that don't go well with hot chocolate :)

Gutter that is very interesting work that you do. I would love to hear tidbits here and there about gear and such. I tried once to fix a peavey bass amp for a guy and it took me forever to figure out. I think if I had been charging him for time that it would have been cheaper to buy a new one. It didn't have tubes, it used transistors.

Ok now that I have caught up, Good morning everyone.

Helen, now you have to find another place to store the files before your equipment blows up again. I started using Mozy which gives you 2gb free and unlimited for something like five bucks a month. I have it auto update at night. So much easier than the old days of saving to disks or cd. Just an idea I came up with will
THAT is a great idea roth! I hate backing up (and have paid the price in a zillion lost files and pictures over the years). I'll check it out.

Off and running today in overcast AZ with Buzz injected Smooth 8 and a few cups of coffee.

Good morning Helen. I have an external hard drive at home that I leave hooked up to my computer and turned on all of the time. The software that came with it lets you set a scheduled automatic back up and you can pick which folders you want it to back up. I just leave it on and it backs everything up once a month. We don't save a lot of files at home so I figure that's often enough. You could set it to every day if you want to. I only paid $89 for it so I figure if it dies from leaving it on all of the time then that's not much lost.

My computer is still not fixed. It's amazingly slow and I'm afraid to take it back to the techie without first backing up somewhere but I'm afraid it would take 2 days to back up my tiny files at its current function rate. And I'm afraid not to. And it would take me 2 hours to drive to town to buy an external hard drive and I'm tired from moving dirt for 6 hours with the wheelbarrow and I just want to WHINE! So maybe that Mozy thing would be a good idea. If your computer has some terrible virus, won't you just back up the stupid thing along with your files into either an external hard drive OR the Mozy cloud storage? I have no idea what I'm talking about, honestly. I need a nap. The thought of actually TRYING to get exercise is appalling to me. This includes running. sorry about the rant, but it's what I'm thinking right now...

BCB, sorry you are having a rough time. So did you take your computer to get fixed and it isn't? Viruses can be a pain. Have you tried running AVG virus scan? The program is free to download and it will update after install. I use it at work and at home. It's worth a try. If your computer is running real slow you might start the scan before bed and check on it in the morning. Good luck.

Gutter I'm glad you like the extra crumbs. Have you tried the honey bee?

    enjoying... a soy cappucino..

    Is that possible Gutter? *grin*

I just recently switched away from drinking milk (which is killin' me), so have bought both Soy milk and Almond milk. I like the Almond... well, I've gotten used to it.

The Soy? No bueno. Es caca. I even bought the vanilla. I have to add the soy a little at a time to the Almond to get through it.

BCB, sounds like that storage place on line is just what you need until you get your 'puter fixed! Been there, done that. In a panic I was backing off files on memory sticks with a laptop that had lost the internal battery functions and would just shut down even if plugged in and the Li-Ion battery pack was taken out. Worked slooooooowly and was inexpensive (since I had 4 or 5 of them just thrown in a drawer here anyway). What a nightmare. I wanted a new Toshiba with a built in webcam anyway. LOL Love this laptop (for now).

Reheated coffee, Smooth 8, same ol' same ol' honey menthol.

i'm gonna agree on the avg free. i use it on all of our non linux computers here and between that ,spybot s&d ( another good free program) and crap cleaner we seldom have issues.

Hitt- i did take a small pinch of the honey bee and like the smell but it seems a bit dusty for lack of a better term.is that just the grind difference or are there other variables?
at any rate, i've got some kanel in right now and i'm not picking up the cinnamon notes.this is the first portion though and i've been on strong tobaccos for the last couple of days so i'm gonna reserve judgement untill i've used a half can or so.

Hahahaha. the soy is weird at first and alot of them have a real, real funky aftertaste that comes out especially when hot.the best we had tried previously was the 8th continent plain ( the vanilla flavor seems to accentuate that funky aftertaste for me) but kroger has some sort of house brand now that we've been using. it's in a red carton and is quite a bit cheaper than the 8th continent and seems to be a bit better hot.
i still use real milk for hot chocolate though.i've found that the all natural organic ( i can feel myself rolling my eyes as i type that out) doesn't give me all the weird allergy stuff that the run of the mill turner was giving me.

Gutter yes the bee is a dry, fine grind. That's why I said be careful when taking it. It's kinda easy to sniff too hard with it. I think most of the scotches and toasts are like that. I have some best dark that I got a while back that is a lot rougher ground and pretty moist. I didn't care much at all for that one. Not to mention it seems like a floral scent to me.

Aaaah. ok.so generally speaking, the moister and coarser a snuff is, the easier it is for a beginner?

I guess so. I'm no snuff expert. I just know what I like so far. OTD knows a lot more than I do. I wish he would stop by. I don't like the real rough grinds and don't like most florals. I like the fine and medium grinds and have been leaning more towards menthols. It seems like they have the best hang time to me and I like how the menthol opens my sinuses.

Ok, Good morning. I got my thunder berry and am a little more awake now. For some reason since the weather has cooled down, I have been sleeping in til around 9:00 on the weekends. Work was really rough this week so I was pretty exhausted by the time the day ended yesterday. I should probably go get in a workout but am undecided on whether I feel like it or not. I know I should do it anyway. Looks like I wasn't the only one that slept in this morning with no posts since the A.M. . I'll check back later.

Mornin' all (well, for a few more minutes in AZ).

All polished up with the war paint and ready to head out the door for my monthly vaping social group meet up. YAY. Always a good time (and I'll do a nice glass of wine today I think!). We meet at a great sports bar so nice food and spirits to be had while there. Weather is cooling off so will be nice outside on the patio area (they have a room we can meet in if we want, but it is much nicer outside). We've got lots of new people so it will be nice to meet some new friends and see the "oldies" that I'm so fond of.

    Hey all,
Just got back from winter coat shopping with the kids. I'd like to relax now but I doubt that will happen! Since I've been working so much lately I really have to scramble on the weekends just to get my weekly stuff done. I often end up wandering around in circles in the house never quite finishing a project because I keep getting sidetracked with different projects. Ahhh, the joys of adult ADD ;)

Hello Helen and Axl. I went to home depot and Lowes trying to find weatherstripping for my windows. It's the stuff that goes on the bottom outside edge. Neither one had it so I've been looking online but still haven't found it. The only marking I see on the windows is J/W oh and the date. I think they are jeld wen but am not sure. I went thru the same hassle trying to find stripping for the bottoms of the doors a year or two ago. I'm kinda frustrated right now.

Evenin' all :). Couple more days off down the tube, but I followed my list to the "T" and feel quite satisfied that, because of the extra effort required, I'm now fit as a fiddle. Ahh, it's good to be back in shape. Glad that's over...

Cool. I started playing drums at 10, then took up guitar at 13. Our school yearbooks had senior predictions and mine was "The worlds greatest heavymetal lead guitarist". I never actually made it that far, but I was able to record 2 albums worth of originals with my band (Black Diamond) in a guys basement 16 track studio. Over the years I just got to be more of a successful drunk than anything else, though. I still have the cherry Les Paul Custom I bought new in 1980; the sunburst '69 Strat I got off a former bandmate; a pre '82 Jackson/Charvel (San Dimas I think); and a Fender acoustic/electric. Gone are the '62 Flying V and the '70 SG (desperate days of old). Also, throughout the years I've managed to hold onto my '69 Fender Dual Showman with 15" JBL's and a Crate chorus head adorning 2 MTX Pro 215's. Not to mention a bevy of old, dysfunctional Gibson and Fender practice amps along with some Bogen and Marshall to round things out. I've always been a sucker for Gibson solid bodies, but my oldest son is nose-deep in Epiphone and Fender. I honestly have to say I sold myself short back in the day by not buying Epi's. I know they're now owned by Gibson, but as far as I know Epiphone is run as a sovereign company. Good stuff.
