From the East coast we now travel to the Left coast and see what the folks who write laws have on their plate. Hmmm, looks like they've found an effect way to remove "happy" from the meals of those vicious toddlers. Maybe that's the answer.

SF supervisors pass 'Happy Meal' regulations - Business - Consumer news - Food Inc. - msnbc.com

SAN FRANCISCO — For some veggies-hating children, Happy Meals won't be so happy anymore.

City lawmakers on Tuesday approved legislation that they hope will force fast-food chains such as McDonald's to make their children's meals healthier or stop selling them with toys.

The Board of Supervisors voted 8-3 to preliminarily approve an ordinance that would limit toy giveaways in children's meals that have excessive calories, sodium and fat. It also requires servings of fruits or vegetables with each meal.

Now, I know I've only had 7 kids, but I've yet to see one eat more then 6 of the 12 fries or more than 3 bites of the 1/8 oz. burger. If this goes through, I see a hard way of life for the dumpster divers. Who'll feed the homeless of San Fran now?

Supervisors and activists who support the measure said they hoped efforts like this would make San Francisco the first major city to take this action to curb childhood obesity, perhaps starting a trend that would spread to other cities, states and the country.

Of course, it's for the children. What a good idea. It fixes lazy parents and for parents who are traveling or want to reward their tots, satisfaction of knowing that the wino's no longer have to suffer the embarrassment of dumpster gut. I personally think they should go a step further and consider a law that requires all mothers to be forced to make homemade mashed taters at gunpoint every night. That'll be even more caring, I say.

McDonald's has said the law threatens business and restricts parents' ability to make choices for their children.

Absolutely, it's the Amerikan way. Who knows more about raising children than a group of politicians?

This message brought to you by the makers of government subsidized abortion, where parents don't have the right to know about that little medical procedure performed on their 13 year old daughter across the state line.

Good morning. TV I guess there is no such thing as an accident any more. Come on, sue a 4 year old, REALLY? Also the Mcdonalds thing is crazy. If some parents were actually present while their kids were growing up then they wouldn't need the govt. to regulate happy meals. They already do offer some fruit but making it mandatory is stupid. We watch what our kids eat and make sure they get fruits and vegetables with almost every meal so if they want some fries once in a while then I have no problem with it. How about they make a law that parents actually have to be responsible for their children's welfare. If your kid is obese then maybe you shouldn't take them to Mcdonalds five times a week no matter what they are serving. How about a law that when they go to the grocery store then they have to have a certain number of fruits and vegetables depending on the quantity of groceries they buy.

Stubby, Blackula? I actually forgot they even made that until now. How about Basket Case? Basket Case had to be the worst supposed to be scary movie I can think of. That is except for Killer Clowns.

Afternoon folks. I was just taking my lunch break and reading an article about the election on the Yahoo page. There was a picture of Obama on there and he looked worried and upset. That made me smile. There was a quote on there that I enjoyed and wanted to share.

"Yes, we can" has collided with "Oh, no you don't."

I really liked Killer Clowns. Nothing like a B movie sci-fi thriller with really really bad effects. Among the best B movie thrillers is THE HEAD THAT WOULDN'T DIE. Not to be missed

Evenin' all :). Stubby, I think ya got it all wrong. Our elected officials are a well rounded bunch. For instance, a good liberal Democrat is out to fix the world even if he has to create the problems. A good conservative Republican knows all problems are best ignored since they'll go away by themselves. Together they make a whole. How could anything be more efficient than that? I think we just need more time to let it mature and age properly. Sorta like a compost pile. But don't worry about the Democrats selling our souls to the devil just yet, Republicans will make 'em wait til the right offer comes in :|. Until then I foresee a 5000% chocolate tax to keep things afloat. Maybe tofu chocolate won't be too bad, though.

Y'all are comin' up with some winners in the scary movie category. The titles alone bring back nightmares........

Oh I am SOOOO relieved TV!! I'll keep pushing myself out to door to run in preparation, and I'll keep on with the hair coloring too!

I did make it 3 miles but it sucked sucked sucked! No matter which direction I was running the wind was in my face. I just hate that! Maybe I need new running shoes. Kind of blew my shoe fund on snus though! REady to blow more of it if Merry Christmas snus would ever become available. I really want to get some of that!

I am really upset about socks tonight. I have been wearing the same brand and style for over a decade. I bought a few new packages tonight and they are WAY thinner material than what they were before. What the heck is up with that?? I noticed the same thing about my favorite underwear a few months ago. That IS NOT a good way for a business to cut costs in my opinion. Sooo...time for change I guess. Who makes nice thick, but not too thick, white crew socks??

Good evening. I got my workout in tonight. Something weird happened while I was running. Usually I get kinda tired as I'm finishing my second mile but tonight it was like someone gave me a shot of adrenaline at around a mile and a half. All of a sudden nothing in my whole body hurt and I felt like I could run forever without even being slightly winded. It actually scared me a little. I'm recovering with:

Hitt, that is so funny cuz I experienced about the same thing just after my two mile mark. It lasted for about 1/4 mile and then I was back to my chugging-what-the-heck-am-I-doing-this-for self. It is fun while it lasts, isn't it? Does the weather change make your foot that you injured hurt more or doesn't that seem to matter?

I'm so glad elections are over. A bunch of judges got voted out here in Iowa. Apparently Iowa wasn't as ready for gay marriage as they had thought! I heard some national reported on the radio say, "now the republicans are going to have to do something other than just complain". I think both parties do little BUT complain! (oh ya, and screw things up) LOL!

My first thought was that you must have died. It appears you probably didn't, but let that be a lesson to you guys...exercise is the #1 killer of people who exercise. Heart attacks, speeding buses, muggers and on and on. The way I see it, a steady heart rate of 20 beats/minutes is indulgent enough.

W, hair coloring is fine with me, if I have any left by then I might do the same. Maybe even do my eyebrows in 2 different colors, wouldn't that be fun :).

U.S. border cops find massive Mexico drug tunnel | Reuters

(Reuters) - U.S. border police have found a sophisticated smuggler's tunnel the length of six football fields linking Southern California with Mexico and believed to have been used by drug traffickers, authorities said on Wednesday.

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection agency said the tunnel linked warehouses in Otay Mesa, California, and Tijuana, Mexico. It measured 1,800 feet and was equipped with a rail system, lighting and ventilation.

Poof, and it just appeared...... I guess Osama did say there were "shovel-ready" projects out there.

Axl, its funny that you asked but just over the last two days the foot that I broke has been aching along with the lower part of my leg. The foot doctor said he saw the start of arthritis in that leg. It actually makes it feel better when I exercise regularly. I read an article a couple years ago that said exercise can help with arthritis. Who knows. I guess it can't hurt much.

Nancy Botwin could have told them about it. Ran right into her storefront, season four I believe. Those border patrols are slow or don't get the premium stations.
