Good morning everyone. Hello Wiz. You should stop by here a little more often. It's good to see some more of the old familiar faces here again. I guess with the weather cooling off that it might be natural. I'm not sure why but lately I had been having some extra sore muscles in my legs from running/workouts. I decided to take a couple days off to heal and then get back after it tomorrow.

I was wondering if anyone has read anything about diacetyl? I have seen a few discussions around the forum about it and from what I gather it is in some flavorings used for liquids and it sounds like if you get enough that it can be dangerous. Does anyone know the true story on this?

Hi Hitt.........Too many threads to keep up with these days...LOL! As far as diacetyl goes.....Some suppliers are stating now whether their juice contains it...and some others don't! I'll take my chances with that over smoking any time! Not sure if menthol liquids contain diacetyl?

Excercise is overated by the way:)

:)Wiz!

I don't know for sure, but I think the diacetyl is in the flavorings. I doubt if it's in menthols. I got some 100mg unflavored a while back and mixed up some at around 33mg and like it just fine. I still like my tobacco menthol but could do my own with menthol crystals if need be.

Hey Jojo! It's been awhile. I hope that all is well with you.

Is the discreet any good? How many mg of nic?

Hitt, you are probably way faster and you probably run further. Treadmills LIE!!

Hitt, did quitting smoking help their copd at all? I think if I have it, it is in the earliest phase. My dr said my results were as close to normal without being considered normal that results could be. He also said that not everyone fits into the normal ranges. I wasn't upset about the 85% thing because for that normal is 80-100.

I cleared up the little mystery of why I was dragging .... running last night. Woke up this morning with a head cold. Yuck.

    Hi ya rose
The discreet is very similar to general mini - a tad smaller and work the same ( at least for me ) - not certain of the nic content though - I do know that they are very gentle on the gums.
COPD - ohhhhhs nooooooss - oh gosh, well thank goodness you quit those nasty thangs - I hear that the lungs get clear in about a year or so. I know that i dont wheeze anymore. ( and smell pretty all of the time - blush, blush )
    big hugs atya woman...

Werkit, what is a hard gainer? I'm just not familiar with that term.

Jojo, I may be wrong but I think the discreet is either 7 or 8mg nic strength. I remember that from when I tried it before. The discreet has some good flavors and the portions are pretty small.

Werkit, what is a hard gainer?

A hard gainer is a skinny, beanpole, bony a$$ed ectomorph, for whom it is almost impossible to gain muscle, even when we try. It's HARD for us to GAIN. We have high metabolisms, which means we burn more calories than others, even when sitting on our behinds. The worse thing we can do is cardio, because it raises metabolism even higher, making it even harder to gain. As an example, about 17 years back I roller bladed 50 miles a week. I ate 5 meals per day and drank two 2000 calorie shakes per day as well. If I didn't do that, I would run out of carbs on the skate and get the shakes. Ectos have the bodies for endurance sports, skiing, roller-blading, running, etc. It doesn't get better as we age either. I am 46 and can't hit 200 lbs to save my life. So no cardio and when I lift every other day, I do as few reps as possible with as much weight as possible, to prevent raising metabolism any higher.

Thanks for the explanation. I hadn't heard of that before. I was rather skinny myself at 140 when I graduated high school but put on weight while in the army and after. I started running again to get myself back to a comfortable weight. I average around 180 now after almost reaching 200 and realizing that I am uncomfortable at 200. I do enough to maintain a comfortable weight and feel good.

Evenin' all :). Wow, beezy beezy chatter since my last post, so I've been sitting here enjoying jojo's pretty scent while playing catch-up.

roth, I can't believe I missed your birthday :(. 63 years is a lot of time misbehaving, but they say no rest for the wicked. Happy Birthday, bro :2cool:.

W and GM, I appreciate your drive to overcome the obstacles of staying in shape. That's more than I can say for myself. My wife's like that, she's a fitness nut and finds much fulfillment in exercise. Not being one to cave to peer pressure, I still hate it. I've always maintained by the type of work I've always done, which is a requirement, but if it wasn't for that I'd be a marshmallow. What can I say? I'm really just a pig at heart .

Hey Wiz, are we back to a normal regimen of snuff in our diet now?

hitt, that bargain snus site is indeed a Northerner commissioned project. If enough folks buy into enough of a particular snus the deal is very good. The drawback is mainly waiting to see if there are enough buyers to lock the deal in. Unfortunately, the way Northerner finds new ways to goof-up, it might be hard to decipher if you got the deal, when you got it (for charges), and at what point you find out they lost your order .

WerkIt, where have you been? I was afraid your 'baccy plants swallerd ya up.

The cardio is a huge RUSH indeed. You probably get a bigger cardio rush running than I did speed walking the local mountain. You hit that zone of nirvana at a certain point in the middle of it. I know you know what I mean. When doing the mountain every day, I got more done, because of the rush but it also energizes you for hours after you've done the cardio.

Naa, I chopped 'em down when I got back from out of town, cuz I really didn't have time to deal with them. I am prepping for winter sowing some perennials presently, although I won't put those outdoors til mid-January.

8-o...No!! For the love of God, no! ...unless it's comparable to that free-fall feeling of bungee-jumping. In which case that would still be a negative......

Heehee! I was talking to hittman. He runs, so he has to know about the rush.

Ok, lemme see if you can get what I am talking about. Have you ever had marathon sex, you know, where you go at it for longer than two hours? That rush of energy, I mean prior to orgasm, where you are just really throwing it and your heart rate is up and your breathing hard, but you just keep on going because you are feeding off the physical exertion itself, so the intensity of it just propels you to keep going it at it even longer?

THAT RUSH! That's what I am talking about.

Raining/sleeting here in the lovely state of Iowa. One county north of me has a winter storm warning tomorrow. Just the one county. I guess there'll be this one big cloud...

Oh yeah, right. I see what you're saying. "Marathon sex" strikes home now. They don't call me "the 20 second tiger" for nuttin', ya know. Why, I almost had a orgasm reading your description. I've even....:?:...."longer than two hours"..... Did you really mean "hours" or was that a typo? Scratch what I said before. No, sorry WerkIt, nirvan still escapes me. At least now I know where you got your name .

Evening all, I'm barely recovering from my BD. Concert was amazing- sex, ****, and rock'n'roll just like the good old days, felt 40 years younger. Went with the marathon sex but kept the heart rate controlled below that nirvana level. May be back to normal sometime before the weekend's over but I hope not.

Glad ya survived it, roth. Not many 63 year olds can act like they're 23. Not many 46 year olds, for that matter . Well, there is WerkIt, but he has a name to live up to, so he doesn't count.

From the entertainment news front: FLASH...

EXCLUSIVE: Pending Lawsuit Against Donny and Marie Osmond Resolved - MSN Music News

Attorneys for the Osmonds and Chip Lightman, the former producer of the Donny & Marie show at the Flamingo Las Vegas, announced that the litigation over production services has been resolved.

"I am pleased we were able to resolve this matter and am sorry that, in the heat of battle, comments may have been made that were hurtful to the Osmonds," Lightman said.

Now, it doesn't say what the problem was, but taken in the context of "in the heat of battle" I still fail to feel a looming threat of doom in a war between Donnie and Marie and a guy named Chip. Am I fearless or do you think I just don't know any better??

Good morning, gang. Looks like it's been a busy few days around here. I've been enjoying a 4-day weekend and haven't been checking in much... and then I finally caved in and bought an Xbox so my sense of time is completely shot now. Apparently I spent most of yesterday killing Nazis. Had to actually make the conscious decision not to start playing this morning so I could get some other stuff done. Nothing like having an addictive personality, right?

We've got a rainy day lined up here in Memphis, so I'll be catching up on laundry and maybe even cleaning a bathroom or two if I get really motivated... More likely that I'll chasing Nazi's later, though.

Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Good morning. You folks left me with a little catching up to do. When I got home from work yesterday, the outlaws were here visiting and I didn't have a chance to get back on last night. I'm not much of a night owl.

Werkit, I do think that I know what you are talking about. A few days ago Axl and I were talking about how we got a strange adrenaline rush towards the end of our runs. That doesn't happen all of the time but it was rather exciting. As far as the marathon sex goes, I'll just say that I've been married for 16 years and it's been some time since I've experienced that.

Roth, glad you had a great B-day. I can hardly remember the last time I went to a concert. I've been to a few bars to see live bands but it's been years since I've been to a real concert. Congrats on the marathon sex and especially keeping the heart rate down so that it didn't end with your heart exploding.

TV, with being married and sex being few and far between, twenty seconds doesn't really sound too bad. To me it's a little like playing music. It's difficult to stay good at it when you don't get any practice time in. Speaking of music, my daughter has been practicing Minuet 3 on her cello getting ready for an assesment at school and hearing her play it so much got it drilled into my head so the other night I photocopied her music sheets and started tabbing it out on guitar. I'm not great at doing that so it's taking me some time but it's actually fun.

Coffee is done so I'm going to stop typing, get a fresh cup, and check out the other threads you folks have dug back up from the past.

Another exciting saturday. Laundry, dehydrating tomatoes, and a trip to Target. Woo hoo!
I wonder if my old violins still work? They are in the basement somewhere. Even if they do, I doubt that I am any less tone deaf.

Happy belated birthday Roth!!! I seem to be running a day late on them all lately....

JoJo, I'm glad you found a balance that works for you.

For all you exercise nuts..... you exhaust me just reading about you're running.... I prefer to ride my bike... which is equipped with a mild 1300 cc assist..... Holding it up at the stop lights is exercise..... isn't it????

I haven't been on much lately. Been busy with another hobby, and finding a job. Been out of work for over a year.... But I finally found something. I start training Monday morning at 6 am for two weeks, then I'll go to second shift. Four ten hour days and three day weekends. Hopefully soon I can afford to order more snus, I'm down to 10 cans of Grov Black in the freezer....
