The parental units came over and we all worked on the shop today. We were informed that my aunt and her grand kids are coming to spend Christmas with us all and we are both super excited. It should be a blast and we're both really looking forward to it.
I had a 2x4 fall on me from 8 feet up today - I caught it with my forearm but seemed to have pulled something in the deflection process.i'm at my chiropractor's office utilizing some of his muscle relaxing machinery right now.he has this thing that resembles a really shallow waterbed with jets in it that always puts me to sleep.last thing I need to do is conk out on it.i'm sure it would be a sight for his office women to see in the morning

Hey guys. Nothing new at all to report. Well, I did get my daughter a puppy last friday. He is a brussels/yorkie cross and a very NICE puppy. We still all miss Monte terribly though.

Work has gotten busy. Boss's son quit last week and we are not replacing him, nor are the two of us left supposed to add to our hours, yet we are supposed to magically absorb his 25-40 hours a week. Uh huh. Real logical.

hey all!
i got nothing interesting to post today. all the christmas shopping is done,the grocery list for christmas day is done and it looks like i'll be caught up with work enough to not have to worry about it.I'll be working my .... off untill then but everyone's gifts are en route and all that will have to be done is the wrapping and cooking.
as an aside, now that i've had time with this iphone, i'm really, really impressed with how much it streamlined everything for me.The camera quality is good enough that i can use it to send pictures directly to customers with it without having to resort to my "real" camera,the upload/download speeds are great (even on 3g) and the overall ease of use is just great.It's been a gamechanger for me.

Other than that, I'm really enjoying my job lately. The last few repairs have been great and everything is coming and going at a great rate and i'm actually making enough money that it's worth the hassle. I know it will slow down after new years but, i think i've got enough projects planned to keep things rolling untill tax time.
The wife got a new boss this year and his scheduling habits are great compared to the last nutjob - she'll have to work 6 days this week and next but , it's nothing compared to the 3 months of 6 day weeks the last one did (needlessly,evidently).

we were debating about roof pitch and i turned around for 2 seconds to tend to my parents dogs and it fell right towards my head and their dogs. I sort of jumped sideways to try and keep it from smashing their dogs and ended up deflecting it with my forearm - i guess it's better than getting a concussion but my arm doesn't think so today
I'll see the chiro tomorrow and he'll get it straightened out - all that's left is the muscle soreness.

I'm really hoping the kiddos show up - one is turning 18 this year and i haven't seen her since she was 6. the other is 6 or 7.They're both super smart,funny kids that seem more like little adults and it's always a blast to get to see 'em.
we're going to do the regular low stress christmas meal this year. we'll make 6 or 8 pizzas on stones (the wife makes this dough from scratch that is just great) and she will make a carrot cake. It's quick and good and we can concentrate on quality time .

Work was kinda crazy this morning. People arguing and at each other's throats. Where's the xmas spirit? Not in clenched fists I would guess.

A few of you were asking about my mom. I talked with her Monday night and she sounded pretty good and said that they were probably going to release her soon. Well, I just got a call from my sister and she said that my mom's oxygen level dropped suddenly and they are putting her back into ICU and putting her back on the breathing machine. Not good.

Aw Hitt, sorry to hear things went south again. I had a dream last night that somehow my mom was in the hospital, they did something wrong and she died. I was happy when I stopped in this morning and she was doing okay. It's tough around the holidays to deal with the aging process.

My sister decided to have xmas at her house xmas eve since her daughter and sil will be in town (they are New Yorkers). I would have preferred meeting at mom's since it makes for a long night of running- down to mom's, up to sis, down to mom's then home but at least we'll get together and mom seems to be excited about it. Hopefully the excitement lasts through Saturday night.

No big Christmas plans for me, I am working Christmas day so that my sole co-worker can take the day off. She always covers for me when I need her to, so this is a chance to return the favor. Besides, my mother in law will be here all day, and when she is around, I am pretty much a non-entity to my kids anyway!

Axl, she's been in the hospital for a few days . She has bad copd from smoking and has breathing problems bad enough that the facility she lives at sent her to the hospital when her oxygen level dropped too much. She was getting better and then took a turn for the worse again. She's back in icu and on a breathing machine.
