I have been using a 808 for 2 months now after first trying with the OMG "smoke any ware gold" it has worked fine for me and I have 2 months without an analog. I am very satisfied with it but I wish I would have ordered smaller liquid bottles as I have a few flavors I don’t really like in bulk now.  I have 4 extra batteries and I just make sure I have one charged at all times. Now I was thinking of trying something else for at least while I am at home any recommendations on mods for a Newbe

Actually the only frustration is seeing noobs getting hosed.

Now admitedly I made this box mod myself .. but..
Everything that is in my hand, mod, battery, carto, even the drip tip cost a total of six dollars and seventy cents, and it will vape circles around what that site is asking $145.00 for.

A Riva from Liberty costs $35.00 - $55.00 depending on what you get with it, and there are dozens of other quality choices out there that are properly priced. Shoot he can even get a VV mod from MadVapes for a $100.00 less!

no i don't. it's a forum, i know how to use them, i'm on several, and i don't understand y "vets" of any site waste their time getting "frustrated". noobs do what noobs do on every forum, so what? y get "frustrated" about it? is your life really that petty?

there have been plenty of people that answered with a helpful response and no sarcasm. thanks to those people. to the rest of you, get a life, seriously, it's an internet forum, there's no reason to get upset.

Are you seriously jumping bad with the Mouse? See those 9,000 + post the mouse has?

Every single one of those is helping someone like you. How can they help you if they first don't get YOU cleared up on what it is you're speaking of? Chill, and take it easy on the all knowing Mouse. She's spent HOURS helping folks out for no reason other than to be nice. She sure as hell doesn't need to be called a d*** by some dude looking for help.

    Somewhere out there
I think the biggest thing for newb's (me at least) is they want something that looks and feels and acts like a cigarette so their brain tells them this is fine you are still smoking. Even that little red ash led lets our brains think we are smoking. Then down the line our brains figure out we are vaping and can switch to anything as long we can vape. I like the feel of a KR808 in may hands, I am just not ready to hang onto a screwdriver/flashlight looking device or a box, my brain is still needing the look of cig to satisfy me old cig addiction. I think some may not have that "look" attachment like some do. I definitely have the look and feel mental attachment. bnrk

Your not the only person reading this thread. Other new people are too. If you use an incorrect term even inadvertently it's corrected. I don't see a problem with that. It's all about getting correct information out there so people can make an informed decision.

Hate? No hate here! I LOVE the Kr808d-1! I have the XL batteries from Vapor4Life, and these last a really long time.

Even better, they color coordinate -- I have pinks, purples and even greens. You can even get cartomizers to match.

Mostly, I use a 901 atomizer and cartridge with blue foam mod (just search the site for blue foam mod) on my XL batteries. That gives me the best combination of performance (LOTS of vapor), ease of use, cost effectiveness (no purchasing cartomizers) plus ... really, that XL battery is just a great fashion accessory.

I use a manual battery, but this is fine because with an XL battery it is balanced and I have the hang of making it look natural with the slightest little roll of the battery.

I will admit that I ALSO use a 510 system and a DSE 801 system. I love the flexibility of the 510 system -- I can switch back and forth between tanks/cartridges in just a minute it has a great mega pcc (portable charger/carrying case) and again the cartridges are reusable forever. I replace the tops on the tanks whenever they get leaky. Same goes for my DSE801 which is an auto battery system. I have to clean the atomizers more often, but it is just a fabulous looking system in sleek black.

But no, I sure don't hate the kr808d-1. I think it is a really nice system.

I just got a blue V4L KR8 battery (standard size manual, 10-13 second cutoff). I really don't think anyone specifically hates KR8. I do think there are some on the board who think all slim ecigs are crap and nobody is vaping right unless they are using what they say is best. Just don't let it bother you.

I have 3.7v big batteries and mods too. But I'm here here at work vaping this blue KR8 (also 3.7v).

I think this was directed at TJ. I don't see any reason to get frustrated by noobs either. In fact, if we really step back and look at it...MOST of us are still noobs. Let's just chill now.

Sometimes I get tired of answering the same questions ad nauseum also. I just try to take a break for a day or two. It's no big deal really. There's so much info here to get lost in.

For a good long while there KR808's stagnated while 510's moved on, they both have a mini option and with the right cartomizer both vape fine. However you could use your same 510 stuff on an ego, a juice fed box mod. Not to mention that the prices on those large battery 510's came down to be even cheaper than the piddly 280 mah 808.

With so many users upgrading, maybe not most and certainly not all but still a good number of us, as we get tired of small batteries it became reasonable to recommend a threading that would accommodate the user from entry level device all the way up as high as they would go. That threading was, and still to a smaller degree is, the 510.

Mind you kr808 lovers now have options (many medium and large batteries and a few mods with 808 threading) but I think for that large time they didn't ECF kind of got an anti 808 for new people attitude and probably for valid reasons.

True. But I can use my KR8 cartos with a 99 cent adapter on my 3.7v Riva 510 and 3.7v 510-threaded mods. I also heard some of the KR8 cartos perform pretty nicely on VV. And with KR8, when I am using the slim cigs I still have 3.7v

I use 510 manuals too w/ Boge cartos. I started because the hit of an 18mg WOW juice I really liked was too strong for me on KR8 + and WOW carto. The 510 manual and Boge carto toned the hit down a bit. I still carry and vape both - I put the vanilla that needs more hit on the KR8 and the cocoa tobacco that is fine on the 510 on the 510.

i've spent alot of time (probably too much) today reading different threads and stickies, about all the different mods and atty's and kits etc.... available for e-cigs/users. y does everyone have such issues with the stupid simple 808 kits? i get awesome amounts of vapor with the right juice/carto's that didn't take long to find which combo's were right for me.

i'm saving alot of money using carto's/juice over smokes, the system (as previously stated)is stupid simple to use, no hassle, all my hardware is working great at over a month in, great vapor, i mean honestly i don't see why i would ever change from this.

i just don't understand y so many people seem to think that the 808 is somehow a "lower grade" ecig?

    What else have you tried?

But now we just get a $35 box mod from MadVapes and turn it up for the vanilla, and turn it down for the cocoa tobacco.
Then when we find how easy that is to do, we sell the house so that we can pay for a ProVari.

You are still missing the point.
It is the relabling of 808's and selling them for $100+ that we object to.

Why is it that I can hear Billy Mays voice every time I see an add like this!

When I first tried vaping the KR808 was just about the Cadillac of PVs, or so it was claimed...other than the new Screwdriver (one of the first mods). However, it was also an automatic battery then, and there weren't a whole lot of options. The carto idea was good, but it just didn't work for me. So, I went back to cigarettes. When I came back to vaping last year, the Big Batt eGo had been introduced, and it finally worked for me.

Now. with so many options, it really doesn't matter. But it seems like the early bird gets the worm. That original 808 was just lousy, and the manufacturing was horribly inconsistent. Also, very, very limited selection of juices.

For 99 cents and 3 dollars shipping and handling I can use my 510 on my kr808 (actually I have enough mods now not to need adapters for anything). Nowadays ohms matters more than device, want to simulate a bloog on a mini 510? Use a 2.0 ohm cartomizer...want a cooler kr808 go back up to the 3.0 ohm 808....one isn't really better than the other anymore as (within reason) they can all be tweaked to perform like the other. Battery life and cost becomes a bigger factor than performance. I can make a blu act like a volt...for about ten minutes.

I just started vaping, and like the simplicity of the 808's I got from smoketip. They had a sale and got 2 batteries, the chargers, and 6 cartridges for 39.95. I really wanted to try out manual, but this company doesnt offer them :-(. Why I went with them was because of the sale price, and most importantly, the no-hassle lifetime warranty on the batteries. Does anyone know where I could get a couple manual 808's with a lifetime and a reasonable price on them? Thanks
