Hello everyone! Having a problem with one of my tanks. When I put it on either of my batteries the battery flashes like its dead. I emptied the tank, cleaned it and the coil. Kind of odd. Any ideas?

so another tank on the same battery works ok?
is it a brand new tank? if so, i'd think it's causing a short with the battery and needs to be replaced by Halo.

Wheezal, it isn't a brand new tank, couple of months old. And yup, another tank on the same battery works
well, then it's either evil demons that are haunting your vape setup....or, equally likely, the bottom of the tank may have debris that's making contact with the post of the battery.
might also be a problem with the coil itself. you may try changing out just the could to see if the problem follows the tank or the coil. also, an exorcist in case of the evil demon thing....cuz that totally happens to people who vape....and clowns.

If you look carefully at the underside of the tank, you see the slotted center pin. Around it there's a tan insulator. It should be centered, not bulging at one side. Compare it to a tank that works.
Also try this. Take the coil out of the suspect tank, and screw just the tank onto the battery and hit the button. If it blinks, then the tank is shorted out. You might be able to CAREFULLY push the center pin side to side to get the insulator back into place. Don't twist the center pin like with a screwdriver; you wil break a little wire inside.
If the button just glows as if the good tank was on it, then the tank is ok. The problem is either the coil, or how the coil is screwing onto the center chimney.
Hope this all helps. I hope you aren't tightening the tanks a lot onto the batteries. Just snug is all they need. You should be able to loosen it with just one hand.

I must be unlucky. I have bought about 22 tanks. I have had 8 fail on me. And yes, I have checked the tank on different coils that have worked on other tanks. I have changed batteries on the tanks. I have tapped the center posts gently. I have not gotten a short indication, the coils just don't fire. A greater than 33% fail rate is just not good. I love Halo liquids, and only have the Halo system but this is my big complaint of Halo.
By the way, now that there is a new 510 adapter, does anyone have a recommendation for an alternate tank?

I have had a similar experience to yours once with the coil. The light kept flashing like it was dead. I did notice however it wasn't flashing as many times. Like 6 times instead 15 or so. I pull off the coil and I could see that the coil itself had literally turned 90 degrees. Most likely from me dropping it off my lap when I stand up like 50 times a day. Okay I'm exaggerating .....like 20. Glad these tanks are tough.

Are you saying you had 8 tanks that worked, but are now not working? I remember you posting about tanks last July.I have about 9 tanks, and have had them for a year and a half of use. They are all still working perfectly. Some of the graduation markings have worn off, I have broken a few of the black tips, and of course, coils have come and gone. But the tanks still work and fire.
With a multimeter set to check continuity (resistance), I would put one lead on the bottom center and the other in the center of the chimney without a coil. It should complete the circuit. Same with the side threads of the bottom and the side of the chimney. And there should NOT be continuity between the threads and the center (a short) If not, then the thin center wire has broken. I had a friend send me a tank where the top of the chimney had become loose. She had screwed the coil down too tight. The top started to spin, which broke the wire.
Again, finger tight at best for everything Triton. You should never need a tool to loosen anything. The tank should be barely finger tight onto the battery, and should loosen by using only one hand. Any tighter and the grommets/insulators will over compress and fail.

Funny, the first tanks I got with my starter kit are still good and I bought these about 9 months ago.. They're units I bought from 2 to 6 months ago that failed.
