Started with 18mg coming off half PAD duMaurier lights. I think I could have gone higher because the first couple of days I was panic vaping. Not a pretty sight - noob trying to refill an ego-c tank with shaky hands. :)

Seems to be better now and holding at 15mg but gonna try getting some at 18-20 for those times I can't chain vape and need a real hit at work. Don't know if it's normal or not but I've gone up from 1-2 ml a day to 3-5 ml. I blame it on the juice 'trial' phase and my crappy rebuilt coils on my nova :)

@MisterMike: I wish I had the patience to get a good vape from my DUD ......one of these days I'll take another stab at it. I would love to see what the fuss is all about!

Patience is definitely a good quality to have when fiddling with Genesis atomizers. There are still days I feel like denting my wall with the darn thing. But, as soon as you get a stable coil, wowza.

Couple tips: Do a quick torch of the mesh before you roll it, just for that extra layer of oxidation (still torch it afterwards, and give it a couple juice burns. Quench it if you want a more rigid wick.), and have a look at some of Zen~'s how-to vids on wrapping a coil. Honestly, after two days of bashing my head (this after several successful coils, too), I decided to give his method a shot, and within maybe five minutes I had a proper coil going, and although it's needed a couple of minor adjustments, it's been hitting like a champ ever since.

Good luck! I can't speak to DUD vs. DID as I've never tried the former, but I hear they're pretty decent little devices, especially for the price.

@Qcaj: Yeah I hear you. I've been addicted to nictotine longer than I haven't been and while I LOVE vaping I hate being a slave to the addiction.

I also don't understand how anyone can call using nicotine an "addiction" since there is none of the abhorrent self destructive behaviors indicative of one having an addiction. Why and what do you consider being a slave to nicotine IT_guy?
Also what is your DUD?
This seriously needs to be reclassified as far as claiming that nicotine is some hard drug with deleterious effects on everyone.
The whole group think that somehow "Nicotine is a serious addiction issue so we need to ban it thing" is just silly.

Um, what ?

Nicotine is addictive. The definition of addiction is a bit wider than just applying to "abhorrent self destructive behaviors".

I didn't see anyone say that nicotine is "some hard drug with deleterious effects on everyone". Most vapers draw parallels to nicotine's affects to that of caffeine.

I started off at 24 mg, from 1/2 - 1 PAD, then within, I'd guess 6 months went from 18, 15 and am currently at 12.

I'm finding 12 a bit frustrating and I want to go with 18 occasionally and 12 for the rest of the time to stick with more common mg levels that most vendors/brands have.

I found dropping down in the last few months easier, using SR clearomizers at higher voltages, of course I'm pretty sure I went from 1-2 ml/day to 2-4.

Started at 24 .. quickly down to 18 .. slowly down to 15 .. even slower down to 12. Most of my ADVs are @ 12 now, but some need to be at 15 to get proper TH. Think I'll just stay here for a while and enjoy things before trying to go lower :)

Btw, my solution for flying is to take nicotine lozenges when I take off. I had some 4 mg ones from my last trip (while I was on 24 mg juice), and when I had to take one 2 weeks ago .... boy talk about a nicotine buzz :D On the return flight, I broke it in half

I'm not saying its an evil drug and I certainly wouldn't want it banned. I am saying that while vaping is infinitely more healthy than smoking it still is an addiction. I am still looking for the exits after a movie or getting off a flight so that I can vape much like I was doing on cigarettes. That's why I said I was still a slave to nicotine.

A DUD is a just a DID genesis style rebuildable clone.

I must be the weirdo in the bunch.. I vape 12 in the morning.. drop to 6 in the afternoon and after dark mostly 0.
I'm not about the throat hit though.. I want the nose hit I get from mints and menthols.. kind of a sinus instead of throat hit. I will take a draw or three of a 12 juice after dinner and right before bed but just a few puffs or I don't sleep well.

That's not weird.... I'm thinking that's smart. I'm thinking *I* need to try a pattern like that.... but starting with 24 still in the morning for that POW with my coffee. I'm sleeping horribly at night, and it's starting to take its toll...

I vape very differently than I smoked. When I was still sucking on the cancer sticks - I would go outside (heat.. rain.. bugs.. cold.. more bugs) and huff one really fast.. or half of one and come back inside.
Right now.. I'm sitting with a 2X battery from SI next to me with 5 different vessels that I keep swapping out as they get hot. I pretty much leave that thing in my mouth until I suck the battery dry.. then swap for the charged batt... changing flavors as I go. Yep.. it's kinda constant

all day vape for me really does mean ALL DAY

ditto.... I think that's why so many of us, myself included, find that while we may lower our nic over time, we're vaping more juice. The first few days, I only vaped probably 1ml or 24mg each day. After two months, I'm hovering around 2.5-3mls per day, but at an average lower strength, and I have everything from 12-24mg in my arsenal. I also love to puff on it faaaar more in the evenings. When I was smoking, I hated going out in the cold, so as you say it was a quick "git 'er done" kind of thing. I also stopped earlier, and the time between my last ciggy and bedtime was longer...... now it could be mere moments between puff and bed.

I started at 15 two weeks ago, and I'm pretty happy with it. I do vape way more frequently than I drew drags of tobacco, due to being able to do it indoors.

One thing that's really surprised me is how I vape differently than I smoked. I really like the flavour, so I tend to just hold it in my mouth, maybe inhale a bit closed-mouth, then exhale a lot through my nose. I never in 20 years of smoking exhaled smoke from my nose. I also could never understand how my occasional-cigar-smoking friends didn't inhale, now I get it: I think I just didn't really like the taste/smell of ciggies.
