Pressman... I work on an offset web press line and print community newspapers and assorted other weeklies.
Preventive Maintenance Mechanic/Technician for a mining equipment dealer. I work outdoors (When I'm not driving to the next job).

I assemble magazines for rifles. The fun part of my year is taking a break from that to work on a project assembling M4s and M16s.

Sounds like fun! About 5 years ago, I rebuilt the dies that stamp out parts for 60 and 100 round AR magazines. The company that originally built them screwed them up so bad that we pulled the dies from them during the PPAP stage and rebuilt them properly. It was a mess.
I'm a gunsmith now...unable to stand or walk without a cane or walker. Since that injury happened, I changed professions, and truly enjoy what I do. I still get to work with metal, as well as most of the tools I collected over 28 years in the tool and die trade. I personally have turned down AR/M4 type work in favor of shotguns and milsurp firearm work. I have nothing against those rifles, but there's so little gunsmiths able or willing to bring Grandpa's old firearm back to life.

I always liked guns, but I never thought I would be working with them. I needed a job, and my boyfriend actually got me into the shop where he works on the CNC machines. I started out assembling M4 style handguards, which was pretty much just a paycheck. Moving to magazines actually got me more into guns and made my day a lot more interesting since we make so many types and I go back and forth between assembling and measuring out feedlips.
But magazines got pretty boring the day the boss asked me to paint some M4s.It seemed like an odd request, but I didn't realize what the job actually was. All of the parts had cutaways so you could see all of the moving pieces. Every little spring was visible and outlined in yellow paint. Painting and assembling those guns is what really got me hooked. I just wish that I could own one of those. They were so great to look at once completed.
Gunsmithing seems like something I would truly love, even if it's only something I get into as a hobby.
