What's your favorite cartomizer for use in a tank?

I'm loving my SmokTech UCDT 1.5 ohm on my eGo-C batteries, but before I go hog-wild and buy a bunch of replacement cartos, I wanted to ask: Is there an even better carto than this?

What's your favorite carto for use in tanks?

My favorite is either the Ikenvape Platinum or Ikenvape 510 Fusion, but good luck on finding them in stock. Better flavor production and seem to last longer in a tank before needing to be replaced.

The Smoktek single coils tank replacements are my backup, and they are a decent carto for a tank. Some people will say that they flood easy, but I say that they are more easy to fill than Boges are. I've not had much of a problem at all with Smokteks flooding. On the other hand I've had issues with Boge giving me dry hits because they don't wick as well.

None that I have been able to determine yet. My first experience with Ikenvape carto's was when a couple of close ECF friends here were always on me to try them, and every time I went to the website they were out of stock. Finally I was able to land some last fall, and boy I was impressed. These were the Plats. At that time the Fusions were only available in an 801 thread, but they were the "flagship" carto in the Ikenvape lineup, the one that Ikenvape got their reputation from.

Ikenvape has just recently made the Fusions available in a 510 thread. When the most recent stock update of Ikenvapes came in and the Platinums sold out literally in minutes, I grabbed 25 of the new pre-punched 510 Fusions . I've since tried about three of the Fusions and they seem to be every much as good as the Platinums....no better or worse...and that's a good thing.

Sounds like I need to try the LR 510 Fusion. I'm excited! They sound like absolutely lovely cartomizers.

Now I just have to figure out how to buy some. The waiting begins, I suppose.

I wish Kanger would come out with prepunched cartos...I would punch my own but Im afraid I would mess them up. I have always liked the horizontial coil.

It's alot easier than you think. It was only hard back when people were using old saddle valves. the new punches are cheap and just a quick turn or two, it's done.

You can practice on a used carto many times until you're comfortable. Where do you get stainless kangers at?

For beginners using their first cartomizer tanks, I recommend using the laser-drilled cartomizers. They are only a little more expensive than the unpunched cartos. There may be some carto punch tools on the market that are able to punch a hole without deforming the tube from round to oval-shaped, but I have not come across one yet.

This oval distortion can make it difficult to install the carto into the round hole of end caps, especially the more tighter fitting ones such as Phiniac. This can cause unneccesary stress on the end cap o-rings, which are responsible for keeping juice from leaking in the tank and are what keeps the tank fitting snugly on the carto. It just makes more sense to pay a little more for the pre-punched cartos than risk damaging your tank's o-rings, and in my experience the laser drilled holes allow just as much e-liquid to wick as a tool-punched carto.




I also highly recommend using a tank tool such as a Slap Yo Moma to further protect your tank's o-rings.

always just go with these....punched on both sides and tested, i didn't have luck with the pre punched mini holes in cartos...maybe if they drilled 3 or 4 of those mini holes

I use these.

They aren't perfect (nothing ever is): some are duds, some flood constantly - sometimes it will last 3 days, other times a month and a half. But for the price and the customization options, they cannot be beat. I like the single coil 1.7s with one intake hole. I also have like 5 tanks running at any given time, so I tend to value quantity/price over pure quality.

I just wish my Iken Platinum were a lower resistance. I guess I'll still stay with my LR Boges. If I don't punch my own I like these. One 2.5mm hole works really well for my 70PG/30VG mix. Most ohm out at 2.0-2.3 ohms.
