It depends on the atty but the most "exotic" and beefy i like to use is fused aliens 3*26/38 and the wraps and id depends on the atty and the most "classic" coil i use for direct lung is 3*28/38 again the wraps depend on the attys.

And for mouth to lung or restricted direct lung i vape 3*30/38 again wraps and id adjusted as needed..

All those i like to be in ni80 or stainless

Obviously depends on RBA but my work horse is

A simple SS 316L or clapton coil with 3mm id at around .4 ohms and between 30 and 40 watts. Although I’ve been starting to use Ni80 wire.

Yes, simple always worked for me. 22ga kanthal, 7 wraps at 2.5mm give me roughly .22 ohms on a dual setup. Occasionally, when I want to get fancy, I'll twist 24 ga and then wrap per usual.

I never do 'fat wire', never do dual coil, never do sub ohm.
Like I said ............ simple is better

I don't trust myself with a mech because I'm too absent minded. Tried it, scared myself by being foolish with the thing. In the event of a total vapocalypse I will clean it off and use it. Until then I'll grab the thinnest wire on hand and get a single coil under an Ohm, will work on every device I use.

I am so far out of touch, behind the times, I have no idea what any of that means other than the 2.5 id and 30 Watts though I never get that far up the Wattage scale, I have heard of of it.

I've only been rebuilding for three or four years and am still figuring out what works best in each atty. I don't even have a favorite atomizer for that matter.

Right now I'm trying out 2x30/40 5.0 10/9 =1.32 ohms in a two coil RDA on a two-battery mod at 8 volts. This build seems promising. It gets me to about 100 Watts, which is approaching my personal limit. I don't have a tool to wrap a 5 mm coil, but the handle of a paint brush was just right.
