You can use nontoxic JB Weld to plug the hole then drill it out smaller size.

Just a further note on this... if you plug the hole from the inside, since you'd use smaller bit to drill through the existing hole, it's completely invisible from the outside of the atty. A friend of mine did this to his, and unless you looked inside the cap, you'd never know it had been modified.

am I uunderstanding this correctly! you say that the coil /wick play a part in how Airy the Draw/Drag is on a ZAP.
When I first got the ZAP, I too started to look into reducing the caps's airhole aperture.

After having somewhat enlarged the tight hole on the AGA-T2 and then found it quite acceptable, I had a decent comparison, but decided the 1.6 on the ZAP is quite OK after all ... good variety.

Although airiness is obviously based on the sizehole, the coil/wick setup in my opinion have a bearing on it that can make or break the vape, and noticed that when I enlarged the hole on the AGA-T2 cap and installed a larger wick. It at least seems less airy when lots of vapor is present, so perception also plays a part.

I get really good vapor so it is kind of balancing the slower draw with getting the same/more vapor than you would on another device moving more air. I usually hit it two or three times because it takes a second for the coil to come up. I can feel the nicotine more with the ZAP and eventually reduced from 18mg to 12mg. I dry burn the coil once a week and it is the most consistent working, hassle free, rba I own.

It's starting to grow on me a little now, I seem to be toking on it more so than any other setup that I have, I think its because it's so light.

My honest opinion... I've thought about this for a while before posting.

I bought the zap because it came already setup plus they included lots of prerolled, preoxidized wicks and kanthal. There's also a video of Zen himself, showing exactly how to set it up. I figured I'd try it out and if I didn't like it I could sell it in the classys for a small loss and I wouldn't be out too much.

At first I was really shocked at the airy draw, it was way more open than I anticipated (and I anticipated it to be open) But I did as zen directed and slowed down... I took long, slow draws and the open draw grew on me. I decided to keep it. I've been using the stock setup since I got it, for a month or so now. At the time, I had the zap plus a did clone and while I had to keep recoiling and adjusting the clone over and over to try to keep it working, the zap worked great with almost no adjustments every day. My plans for this nice, cold, rainy day are to take out the insulator and rewick it with a fatter wick (my own).

As far as trying to tighten the draw.. I think it would be hard to make the air hole smaller and I don't think I would like it if it were smaller. I put a piece of tape over it and poked a small(er) hole and the draw was wayyy to tight (rubber ball in a garden hose tight). I went to surevapes and bought one of their SS drip tips that has a narrowing (the pawn) and it seems to help. Great drip tips btw... they're only $3.50 and the one I got looks awesome on the zap!) I plan on getting more.

Learning "how" to vape it was key for me. Once I get the new setup in it, I'll edit this post to say how I did.

30 minutes later.... I took out the insulator and combined two of the 400 prerolled wicks that came with it. It works great! Much better! The draw seems to be "fuller". My ohms are reading 1.5, which was what I was shooting for. The stock setup was nice to learn on but taking out the insulator and doubling the wicks is night/day. Very very pleased. It also seemed to tighten the draw quite a bit. I recently purchased a real DID and am noticing that the draw on the ZAP is now exactly the same as the draw on the DID.

As pbusardo said ... I just feel in love with my ZAP all over again!

I ve seen a couple of items you might think of trying to make the draw stiffer. One they sell a drip tip by Siam mods called the air flow. It allows you to adjust the amount of air flow. Second , Ive seen some special air flow 510 adapters that go between the top of your mod and atomizer that has a ring that you can close off or open to adjust the draw.

I'm not one to be a fan of something I like variety but I am a big fan of the zatty pro and really every zen product they are just easy to set up, well built, and they look great also tanks are easy to come by (there is nothing worse than breaking a tank thats hard to find). The nice thing about the zap is that you don't have to get your ohms perfect to get it working perfectly like you do on a mechanical mod with a genesis atty.

When I first got my ZAP I was very disappointed with the airy draw but after a week or so I got used to it, and now I rather like it. The only thing I would change is the top cap design in terms of how tightly it connects. My top cap pops off with the slightest contact and this has led me on a search for another RBA that I can take with me out of the house - possibly a DID. Alternately, I am thinking that an iHybrid may be a good option since they have a sleeve over the top cap that keeps it in place but I am not 100% comfortable moving a non-VV mechanical mod. I think I am going to hold off on any big purchases for a while, though, because I have a feeling there are going to be some new and exciting advancements coming soon that will far exceed what is available now.
The tank on the Cobra fits very tightly. Might be a good one too look at. The draw is quite stiff though.

ZAP is so forgiving compared to my other genesis atty's.(iHy, cobra, aga-t2) It's nice to have a genesis around that always works while I wrestle with other devices. The others sometimes outperform the ZAP but require more attention. For this reason I'll be leaving the insulator in. I find the draw nice & relaxing. I wish I'd gotten the regular size provari though as it goes through 18350's & 18490's quickly.

Hey, I bet you've heard ppl say "it's all about the build" & it mostly is. The others sometimes outperform because I've got a nice build going on them (or a nice flavor) & I can use them on a mechanical mod. Sometimes I like my ohms a little lower than provari allows. (About 1 ohm is what I like on mech mod) Between the 4 I have, I couldn't say which is best.

I believe this is true. It has also been said that the smaller the air chamber the better the flavor. I believe that this is also true. the very best flavor I have gotten from any of my genny's is from the tiny Genesis PiculiSci.

PS I have a ZAP, a Z Atty U, and a Zenesis mini Ti and I love them all!
