When I got my ZAP in January they were in stock for at least three days. I haven't seen them stay in stock since for that length of time though.

Yeah, as I recall, the early January release was either big, or nobody had any money after Christmas. The early December releases were gone in minutes.

I love my Zen...it was designed with a 1/16 draw for a reason and when you get a good coil build going and its cooking juice well the draw is really not important...I agree with others like "NiNfreak" who points out that alot of folks are used to fighting for air with Novas and various clearo's....with the Zen you just let it do all the work for you....slow down and relax, easy draw if it whistles your going to fast

I get huge amounts of vape from my Zen and i have grown to prefer the draw so much i just drilled my RSST out to 1/16
dont have to fight it its no resistance that's why its the "Cadillac" of rba's

As for the draw, it is what it is. It's the personality of the Zens. I love it, at times. But I also love the Cobra, which has a much tighter draw. It's the personality of the Cobra. I'm sort of a purist. I don't like altering the high end RBAs. I like them for what they are.

One thing I've noticed with the zap (and the did and the vulcan did clone) is that when I recoiled them last, I recoiled very low. The clone is set to 1.0, the did is set to 1.2 and the zap is set to 1.4. I'm noticing a much tighter draw in all of them as opposed to when they were coiled at say .. 1.7ohms. With higher ohms, the vulcan did clone is my favorite (in the draw dept) but now that it's set so low.. it's too tight. I'm on a road trip at the moment, in a hotel room in DC and I've refilled my did over and over but haven't really touched the others, especially the clone because it's now a bit too tight. Before, when the did was at 1.5 and up, the draw was a bit too airy, now at 1.2 it's just perfect.

I'd like to be able to go a little lower on the zap and see what happens but the center post is tall and it'll be tricky.

It's nice that the zap is more available to anyone who takes a bit of time to look on the provape site but the way things are.. maybe they would benefit from being a little less available. Maybe release a small batch every month. Availability was one of the main reasons I snapped up an ac9.. the thrill of the chase and getting one.

I'm not really interested in a Poldiac, I know they're nice and all but with shipping, it's more than I want to spend. It's beautiful but I don't care for the clothes deal and the way you have to move the "shirt" to turn it "off". I'll have to see how I like using a mech mod when the EA comes. If I really REALLY love it.. I just don't know. I think it's time to sit back and watch the market to see what comes next. If I'm ever in the position to purchase a Roller, I can't promise I won't. It all depends on what happens when the EA comes.

I just recoiled my AC9 today with 28ga instead of the 30ga I had on it and thought it felt like the draw tightened up but thought I was imagining it.

I've been using 30g since I'm using them on provari's. When I coil for the EA I'm going to try 28g.

Another note on the subject of availability and it's effect on our buying. Pbusardo is my down fall LOL. If he has it and uses on a regular basis, I find myself wanting it. :glare: That was a major factor in why I bought the zap in the first place and then choose and EA Mod. I just watched his new videos on the aga's and noticed he was using a Natural. It didn't make me want an Aga since I'm a zap and did fan but now it kinda made me want a Natural

The Natural is inexpensive, and it works well. One reason it does is because it doesn't use a spring as an electrical path, which even many of the high end mechanicals do. So, it's pretty efficient. The one improvement I made to mine was to sand the chrome plating off of the contact screw heads, and the bottom post. The parts are brass underneath.

Doesn't the Roller have a spring? Does the EA?

The standard ZAP airhole is 1/16"

that's not so bad then, it's just odd to get used to. I might be drilling out my AGAT2 to match actually. As for the ZAP, when I started vaping about 2 months ago I saw the Provari and the ZAP on a website I was doing a small ordeing from. I thought '... no way I'm ever paying 200+ for this Provari battery thing, and the part that goes on top 200 as well! jeez...' well I've been a proud Provari owner for a week now lol. Still for the ZAP, I think they price is a little steep maybe. I'm on the wait list for the Senesis RBA and I think it looks way nicer than a ZAP and it's going to be about 50$ less to boot. I might buy a ZAP at some point, but for now I think i'll stick with the 30$ RBAs and a pro ring or hippo for my Provari.

Nothing wrong with sticking to the lower priced RBAs as I have said my $15 Vulcan(mini DID clone) vapes tasty clouds just like my $150 ZAP & AC9. The only difference is build and material quality. The newer AGA-Ts and RSSTs sound like pretty nice units though, that are getting closer to the quality of the small limited production builders while keeping the costs down.

Well I just played around with my Roller springs. I first used the stock spring, then tried the silver spring I got for it, and then I tried it with no spring. I was unable to detect any difference with any of the things I changed, perhaps if I measured the voltage output with my mutimeter I would have seen some change, but from a vape stand point I could not tell any difference. What this tells me is the springs are more than sufficient for the current I'm drawing from the battery with a .8ohm coil.

I've got a zap coming - but I bought mine more for my Legacy than my provaris.. I am sure I will use it on one of the ProVs as well but I saw a pic and it looked marvellous on the Legacy

Hope I can get the ohms low enough..

I never thought about putting one on a legacy.. I bet it will look great! Be sure to post some pics. Since I use mine on the Provari, I keep my ohms to 1.2.

Also.. I think my zap has a smaller air hole than it is supposed to be. I've heard that the air hole on the zap measures 1.6. Well... I have a DID with a 1/16 (1.5mm) air hole and the hole in my zap is a lot smaller than that. I just got in a RSST with a custom drilled air hole.. I ordered it to be drilled 1.3mm. I took side by side pics and the air holes in my 1.3mm RSST and the zap are exactly the same.

I'm not complaining.. I like the way it vapes. I just find it odd that I got a "tight draw" zap.

Great Pics! - I just got my RSST in today...so looking forward to playing with that ... I am going a bit Genny crazy right now after my experience with the Aga-t2 :)

Legacy, Drawtube on the way, Aga-t2, a cheap did clone from China, RSST and now..just because I couldn't resist the opportunity to work with a high end RBA - The ZAP.. wow..I'm off the rails at the moment :):):)

Just Got my zap going today, It came with a ceramic wic in it, I followed the video zen made. the coil is 2.5 ohms. hits good, Just has a burnt tast that seems to be not going away, im running my voltage at 4.1v. if this burnt metalic taste would go away it would be great. Mabey it just needs to oxidize more. will keep vaping it and see how it goes.
