Have fun paintin' the castle!

No plans here, it's supposed to be steamy hot here so I'll stay inside and listen to the A/C hum. I don't have a grill but I have two frozen patties of Trader Joe's Angus Burgers. If it's too hot to cook, I'll have burgersicles I guess. I have a small watermelon I'll slobber up all weekend, too. :)

Watching Pastor Jim DVDs (Greek language Bible study) and Dexter season one DVDs, and my favorite hour of the week, Saturday nights at 7:00 on PBS, the BBC series Lark Rise to Candleford. I know, I need a life :)

I'm taking Tuesday off since all the young whippersnappers in my neighborhood like to stay up late with their firecrackers. "Grrrr...get off my lawn."

Growing in up the S.F. Bay Area there was a time you could light off Sane & Stupid fireworks. Of course, us kids would always find a way to get some firecrackers, M-80's and Bottle Rockets. Then Sane & Stupids were outlawed so the local municipalities would have shows, but soon the cities couldn't fund those. Now there are only a handful of places to even see fireworks, in south bay most folks primarily head out to Great America on the 3rd & 4th.

Then we moved to Idaho, a land where you can still celebrate your patriotism through pyrotechnics. So I can't help but to go big on the 4th (my baby boys birthday...turning the big 13) and this year will not be any different. Our celebration will rival most city shows and today I will be heading to the Fat City Fireworks Factory. We generally do 30-40 mortars, 100 bottle 10 inch Burst Rockets, a variety of Artillery Shells, a brick or two of Firecrackers and a few M-1,000s. Needless to say, going to the Fireworks Factory is always a blast for me and the kids.

The 4th will be a full-on raging BBQ/Birthday Party and 20 minutes after sunset....the show will begin. I'll videotape some of it and post it up.....everybody loves fireworks.
