Whats your reason for leaving the dark side?

Hi guys,

I just wanted to share my reason for quitting that filthy habit and switching to vaping. I am a 14 year smoker. Smoked since I was 15, felt really bad every morning with lack of breath as many of you might know. Cliche but cant walk a mile without panting. This year im happy to say my 1st baby is on the way. Just found out today its a boy! The day I found out I was going to be a dad was the day I quit Cold Turkey. Got myself a mech mod (Tres Evo Brass) a flavor chasing atty (N22) and vaped away. Havent looked back since. This was 6 months ago. Please feel free to post your stories, I would love to hear it. More power ecf and toak it dont smoke it peeps!

Was smoking since I was 7. I switched to vaping purely because of uprising cost of smokes and because I saw how cheap vaping can become.

Regardless of reason, my health is alot better. I can wakeup without coughing a lung up, I can ride a bike without having to stop for an air break, ect.

At 13$ a pack, being a PHD smoker, vaping is ALOT CHEAPER. Only "cost" really, is from buying the gear initially, juice is cheap and cheaper if diy. Currently diy I'm paying 5 cents a ml.

Wanted to quit smoking for health reasons. The money saved is a nice bonus. But it's all turned into a fairl passionate pursuit. I'm not blowing money on hardware or liguids. I want to encourage others. The best way to do that right now is try to keep the government from interfering with people trying to quit. It would be great if the socalled public health people would encurage vaping. Will that ever happen, ever?

@sofarsogood I hear you brother! Ita big money vs the little people just like everything else! The government wants to be "green" pro earth but they still allow combustable tobacco to be legal and they want to ban vaping? The way of the world man! Money Money Money!

Welcome @Lanzilla, I also quit for health reasons but the cost of cigs was getting ridiculous too. I smoked for over 35 years and have seen a significant improvement in my health since taking up vaping. I think I might actually be saving money now too!

@WindyCityJoe thanks for the warm welcome, I regret not joing this forum till now. Yeah i think in the long run once you are "satisfied" with your set up you can actually save money. But we all know the satisfied part is only good for a few months lol! It is true though that once you start vaping you want to share it with other smokers not to pester them in anyway just to give them a better alternative you know?

@WindyCityJoe yeah its true, that we cant make decisions for them. But to educate 1 person at a time will do alot imo. I dont wanna see my frieds tied up to machines when I get old no more drinking buddies if that happens

Was a true social\drinker smoker. Finally kicked the habit but was missing something at the bar. So started vaping about a month ago and love it. Zero nic just busy thing at the bar to do.

@Carter1977 yeah i know what you mean! Drinking and smoking go hand in hand. The bad thing is they will both hold your hand to the grave as well! Especially smoking lol! Try some tobacco flavors when drinking helped me out when I firstt started out till it became second nature to me. Now i vape any flavors when I go have a drink with my buddies

Congrats on leaving the dark side and joining the jedi way of life!
Well, it is because of my ex girlfriend, she wanted me to quit smoking cold turkey style, which is near impossible and while I was in the Mall I saw this vape shop, and I bought myself an ego. Vaping since 2011!

My son got me started vaping because he wanted me to be around when his girls grew up. He lost his grand father when he was very young. He loved him so very much because he always took the time to teach him something new when they spent time together. He pasted away from cancer. He was an old school heavy smoker. My son quit smoking him self and started vaping. He told one day after he had his first child. That he wanted me to try vaping and he had made me a box mod and carto tanks he made and told you have to try this and quit smoking if you don't my little girl will have a broken heart from not having you around. Just like I still have. What could I say!

Since you were 7? 13 dollars a pack?

Honestly, I first switched to vaping because it was cheaper. I was living with a friend at the time and the only income I had at the time was my VA disability and cigarettes alone was taking up almost 50% of my budget. Now I build my own coils and juice and vape for pennies a day. Plus, ya know, not hacking up a lung when I first wake up in the morning is also nice.
