Finally decided to stop lurking and join the party!
So somewhat long story: Busted my teenaged son smoking. Sigh, I haven't exactly been a good role model as someone who is 41 and smoked since 14 with a couple of failed quit attempts. I decided it would be more productive to offer him ways to quit rather than just saying "YOU MAY NOT SMOKE!" A vape shop just opened up here in town and that was his method of choice. Within a couple of weeks he had me convinced to try it too. I'd tried a mall kiosk cig-alike with limited results. Just too unreliable. I went and bought a cheapie ego and clearo, and that night smoked the last two analogs in my pack and haven't looked back.
Furthermore, I haven't WANTED to. I love everything about it so far. I've sampled a bunch of juice, now have an ego twist and an ego V V2 mega, and am seriously thinking about taking the plunge for a better PV. That might be awhile though, I'm currently pretty happy with what I have plus some MT3 tanks. All in good time :) I did try a kanger pro tank and I think I'm one of 5 people on the planet that really dislike them.
I've become a MBV junkie and actually have a written list of all the flavors I will eventually try from them, with plans to order 5-6 every payday. This new hobbie has so far NOT saved me much money hehe. I've tried a few other sites as well, including some of the more expensive, artisan type places, and MBV has been my favorite so far. On a recent trip to Denver my mom (who has taken up vaping 0 nic juices, as a non-smoker, to help curb mindless snacking) and I even looked up vape shops to check out while there.
Our local guy (one of three actually..the other two are not worth driving to) is a decent enough guy, and vaping has really taken off like crazy here in little old Casper Wy. A few people I know who vape seem to regard him as vaping Jesus. I, on the other hand, am the type to google the crap out of anything new I am interested in and have found a wide world of vaping amazingness (taking much with a grain of salt, of course).
Over a month smoke free and can't imagine picking another one up. Serious EW factor, which in itself is a miracle for me. Oh, and my son? He's down to 6 mg and will be taking the 0 mg plunge soon. I hope this is something he can stick to so he doesn't end up like me.
(As a side note: My son is a few months from being 18. Some here will disagree with my parenting in this case, and I can respect that. Please be respectful of my choice as well. Thanks)

I for one do not think it is a bad idea to allow your teen to vape instead of smoke and it is a good thing that while catching him smoke and deciding to take the it is ok rather than you cannot smoke attitude is probably a very good route to take. We all know when we were kids.... if the parents laid down the law, we just rebel in most cases!! I think if a kid is curious and wants to smoke they are going to find a way ... By use of logic, I believe it would be better to allow them to vape rather than risking shutting them down when you know they are just going to find a way to smoke, anyway!!

Congratulations on quitting! It was the same way for me...2 days of vaping & I was off cigarettes completely. I haven't missed it the slightest bit. Not only has this been a great replacement for cigarettes, but I'm actually having FUN with it! I always looked at smoking as a habit; I'm starting to think of vaping as a hobby.

Actually, the MBV thread was where I intended to make my first post..I follow it pretty closely :D Had to get my five posts in first though. Hightone, I fully intended to lay down the law on no smoking, but felt it was pretty futile to do that without a "how are you going to quit" approach. Just felt like the right choice for us.
