I'm sorry for this little rant, but it's really ben Irking me alot now that it happens more and more frequent.

People come here for help, I understand not everyone knows every product and make/model, ect.

if some one states what they use, please look it up before you yourself attempt to provide help.

3 threads within the last hour I've seen generic responses that do no help as they do not even pertain to the issue.

Not pointing fingers, just an example

"Using an istick 30 with a subtank mini, I put in a new coil and it reads .6 but when I go to fire it the mod keeps saying check atomizer"
Response? "Oh the pins not touching the coil base, use a spacer/oring and put it under the pin"

Uhmm, the istick has a spring loaded pin, and the user obviously stated that the mod is reading the coil fine.

Please read before you respond, and if you have no idea about the device please refrain from giving "advice".

I just smile and scroll to the next thread when I see that. Or I try to counter the advice and just reply directly to the OP. Not worth the time to call out the replying person on their BS in the thread and start drama.

Not dissing on new people at all but now-a-days it seems that after a month or two of vaping and reading the forums everyone thinks they know everything about vaping. My god I have been doing this for almost 5 years and I still am left here scratching my head at certain new mods and ways of doing things. It took me a good month of CONSTANT reading and tinkering to fully understand hardware interaction with vaping (ie- batteries and the issues with using the wrong amperage with "x" ohm coil ect) when rebuilding first came onto the forums in full force.

Now it's almost like people think they are masters because they watch X youtuber do it.

Maybe one day I'll unload my rant about everyone bad mouthing my 650 mah Evod and ego pens to the noobs and pushing them toward the 200,000 watt .00015 ohm Mods.:)
This irks me a lil too. There are so many different mods because everyone likes something different. BTW, Vape NW had those mods in your avatar pic on clearance. I don't use them, so I don't know how good the price is, but might be worth a look-see. :thumb:

Duly noted and a bump to keep it on the first five pages of new posts.

I see that in Facebook, ECF and other forum formats when someone has a problem with their PV or atty and right away you should buy this or that without even addressing the original problem. It gets aggravating to read and repeat the same crap thread after thread. I really don't care what you use as long as it works, I guess I'm a bit lucky and not had any real issues that I can't solve by posting my problem. I have shook my head many times to useless shot in the dark answers that might cause more problems than solve.

THIS. Word.

Forum has changed a lot in last year.

My other pet peeve is telling anyone who is having trouble with anything, anything at all, they need to "buy something else". Newbies NEED to be able to make use of their purchase, it's an investment to them, and should be encouraged to figure out the problem and be able to use it.

Many here quit smoking on Blu's and fixed 3.7v ego batts with cartos back in the day.

It like "I need to buy something" has become the new excuse for not being able to quit smoking.

Sometimes it hard to decipher the "tongue in cheek" responses from the real ones.

This is true. Joking and sarcasm, while normally welcomed by all in real life, doesn't work in all situations. I found this out the hard way volunteering on a suicide hotline. Man, we lost a lot of people that week! A lot of people... At first I blamed myself but as I told the judge I was just using tough love the way mom used to with me and I always came in off the ledge. Oh well, lesson learned!

The only time I suggest a new purchase is when folks complain that they aren't getting satisfactory/desired results from their current gear. Like, say, someone is using a ProTank and says the clouds aren't big enough. Or the too common "I put a TFV4 on my iStick 30 and it doesn't make the clouds I saw in the vape shop", or "This cheap disposable ego I bought in the gas station broke 2 days later". Other tan that, unless they are asking for suggestions I don't try to sell them on anything.

Thanks for the heads up on the Sigelei ZMax Mods but I just bought the 2 in the avatar a couple weeks ago for $9.95 each shipped from Vaporrange.com clearance page. Wish I could find a Vamo or 2 at that price tho.

That's really not nearly as bad as when a new member, in the New Users' Forum, is asking for info about cigalikes, and gets a response about the superiority of dripping using a sub-ohm-coiled RDA on a mech.

It happened to me... :D
